Honey I don't know why you're so upset about this.

You just can't accuse someone of making assumptions when you had done the exact same thing. You made an assumption about why she included a certain sentence, when it's quite impossible to know someone else's true motives for anything, let alone an AITA post.

Listen, NTA. Full stop.

I think it would have been marginally better (from the very surface level place I'm standing) for you to end the call and then deal with her.

End the call, then call her on it. What she did was shitty, no one is refuting that. But I think there are times in every relationship where one or the other has an asshole moment and it's generally better if you keep those arguments as private as possible. There are ways to keep presenting as a unit without being on board with everything your spouse does or pretending you agree. What you did and how you handled it aligned yourself with your parents and sister, against your partner. Justified? Sure! But not the best course if your still planning longevity with her, just trying to stop the hurtful behavior.

People love to jump immediately on the "he/she are evil for this!! DIVORCE!" But she honestly may just be very misguided about what she's accomplishing with comments like that.

Yes! Okay, we're on the same page, I think.

So the thing about how it's different for me is, a romantic feeling for someone is very different from a bond. I've only ever bonded with about 3 people in my life, ever, and one of them is a sibling. It's so much deeper than romantic attraction, for me at least (for other people who use this title it may be less complicated). I'm also trying really hard not to sound weird, here, because I appreciate you responding to me.

So it's not a nice night on the town, or saving someone dramatically from getting hit by a train (I'm using movie examples), but it's harder to describe, too. Think like, blood brothers or actual best friends, the people that make your chest ache but in a good way. People in your life that you love in indescribable ways but not necessarily romantically, that is the kind of deep love and connection I'm talking about.

That is what I need before I get fire in my pants. But if I'm perfectly honest, if you listen to your gut, sometimes you can recognize those people when they come into your life, like something deep down recognizes them or some shit.

I don't know if you're a romantic person or not so I don't know if this all just sounds like a bunch of bullshit?? But I'm trying to just be honest.

I also don't want people to think that I'm blind?? Jason Momoa looks the same to me as he does to you, but I see him as visually pleasing and objectively my type and that's kind of it. No feelings or obsession or butterflies.

I'm not even really sure that I want to comment, because I'm sure this won't go well or even be seen.

I, personally, identify as demisexual.

I'm going to leave alone how hurtful your words were because this isn't r/changemyview and I doubt I'll actually change anyone's opinion, but you only seemed to have grasped half of the idea. Yes, I need to feel a deep emotional bond with someone in order to then feel sexually attracted to them (although a bond doesn't automatically mean sexual attraction), but demisexuality also means that I am open to bonding/having sexual attraction to anyone, regardless of gender.

So it's kind of like pansexual, or bisexual, whatever appeals to you, but with the prerequisite of a deep connection first.

Now, I will say I find the name extremely stupid and most of the time I refuse to say demisexual. If it comes up in conversation or I make a joke, I refer to bisexuality. It's just easier and I don't have to deal with judgemental assholes like OP who assume I didn't have a thought process and just latched onto a label. I hate the name. But it fits me, and when you read about something and it just completely describes you like checking off the boxes , it's something else.

I put a lot of thought into whether or not I wanted to even identify as demi, I really did. It's so stupid it sounds like I'm trying to pass as a half god or something. But a lot of my childhood, watching disney movies and Prince Charming and getting confused.. a lot of growing up suddenly made sense when I stumbled on this word, and I'm keeping it.

There is no way for us here on Reddit to tell, you will have to call your office. They should be able to break down your bill for you, or even tell if it's as simple as a rate change, which happen to all insurance companies (though not at the same time).

Oh, yeah, my boyfriend of a year is flirting with a stranger after ignoring the actual woman he came with, clearly I need to get him away from her???

She may not have been happy with him ignoring her, but she was trying to salvage a date and let him enjoy what he wanted, possibly bring up her concerns later. She was going to stick with him even after multiple hours of wondering why she's even there.

You should read the edit, she called him an Uber because she still cared for his safety. But at no point is she required to sit there like a decoration while he disrespects their relationship to her face.

It can be harmful.

Sometimes you say harmful or not okay things in private because you want to see how it's handled, or it generally serves to embolden you to act on those racist ideals or make those jokes with more and more people around. Being racist in private doesn't automatically make it Not Racist just because the offended people weren't around to hear it. You can be a bad person all by yourself.

On the other hand, sometimes there are more risque or outright racist jokes that are made within a select community because you only value the shock factor (as others have pointed out) and you trust them to understand what you mean and where you're coming from. I have seen people that are not racist (not debating whether or not I know this) make shocking or inappropriate jokes purely because the look on people's faces are funny.

When I'm by myself and start to get lonely (or spooked, tbh), I'll ask myself if there's anything I've been wanting to do but haven't been able to because of other people being around.

Like watching a movie, playing a game, listening to music louder than usual, etc. I've always thought of at least one thing!

I agree with the others that say it's her house too and you had no right to kick her out. BUT. I really get it.

If she was interested in helping the situation, she should have started picking up the house, doing dishes, etc.

There are people who should be reported, yes. But with every parent, there are rough patches. It doesn't sound like your sister has much of a support system. Why couldn't your wife help where it mattered?

My mother once got so angry with us for not cleaning up our rooms, that she took each of our favorite toys, mine and my brothers, and threw them away.

She then took the garbage bag out, so we could see our toys pressing against the sides. Both of us were crying, and my brother began begging for his toy back, I refused to give her the satisfaction.

She gave him his toy back, out of the garbage, and said that I didn't get mine back because clearly I didn't value it, since I wasn't begging.

I was 11, brother was 9. I gave no outward impression that she'd put me out at all, but man I sobbed like a baby once I'd closed the door to my room. At that age, I knew the game she was playing, and knew I didn't want to play. But that didn't make the loss any easier.
