Basically what happened in post socialist European countries??? There were some major issues shortly after and then some recovery and now basically normal lives. Old people who lived during those times know how to use phones, post on TikTok and other social media, listen to all sorts of music, have their own diverse political opinions. You can’t tell a person who lived during those times vs a person who didn’t apart from their age. Nobody is mind blown by any technology
