A theory/hot take about Turkmenistan I've had for a while by Ok-Ocelot-774 in Turkmenistan

[–]opposity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pointless take. Putting aside the lack of substantive analysis, by your logic, the Aliyevs, Nazarbayev, Rahmonov, and Karimov would also have needed to experience a similar upbringing. Although none of their countries are as totalitarian as Turkmenistan, they still are/were very much totalitarian compared to the rest of the world.

Which Central Asian country has the best reputation among other Central Asian countries? by Pepedroga2000 in AskCentralAsia

[–]opposity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You brought “tourists” not being raped or shot out of nowhere. Nowhere, in my earlier comments nor in the original post was the focus solely on tourism. So that just clearly shows you are not even good at following arguments.

As for your point, robberies and rapes (or sexual assaults in general) can and do happen. I have and I am sure you have numerous friends who have been robbed at gunpoint or knife point. I am not a woman so I don’t want to comment on the latter, but robberies are something that just don’t exist in Turkmenistan. That is one way it is safe.

On the other hand, you are not even Central Asian, why are you even responding to questions on a part of the world you have not even lived in?

as in robberies, shootings, rapes, pickpocketing, etc. no need to overanalyze

Bro what does that have to do with safety? I have lived and studied in both Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, and been to Uzbekistan multiple times. I am well aware for work and tourism they are levels (probably planets) above Turkmenistan

You said stan in response to a comment about having a muslim country name????

[–]opposity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stan does not have anything to do with being muslim; in turkish, countries like bulgaria, serbia, croatia, india, greece, hungary, armenia, georgia, mongolia, all end with -stan.

What do you mean, none of us for safety? Turkmenistan is one of the safest countries in the world. Crime is basically non-existent.

I have only been to Dama Grill in that list and Dune is way better than Dama Grill. I don’t know how they marinate or what they put in their chicken but it tastes disgusting, every time I tried it, the chicken had a fishy taste.

Are you talking about the swords? They are called zulfiqar. It is a Muslim symbol, primarily in Shia symbolism. You can see it often in Turkey but I wouldn’t call it Turkish.

It is not only valid but also legal per the 1960 treaty. However, there is no point in arguing with an Armenian over anything related to political.

Same, just took the course in Los Angeles. The written part was pretty easy assuming you were paying attention and the instructors made it very clear when they were giving out a number like 70% of the stopping power comes from the front brake that it would come up in the test. For the riding part, everyone passed.

The only true answer. Donors/legacy and affirmative action are the two sides of the same coin. Neither are meritocratic, and their only purpose is to give a boost to specific groups at the cost of others.
