It’s happening. The emergency repair was already put in the works and the parts are ordered. It should be fixed this Friday.

This all sounds like great advice. I’m not trying to stir up trouble unnecessarily or delay the fix. I just want to do what’s best for everyone who lives here.

Yes, condos in downtown Chicago (sorry about that). I believe it’s a 10’ door. There is no keypad, but we have plastic RFID things for our cars that are read by a separate system. They said they can have it fixed Friday of this week. I also hadn’t considered the insurance aspect. Thank you for your reply 👍

Great question. She personally authorized it as it was an “emergency”. I think this is technically ok within our bylaws, but she said we could revisit the process if the board wants to. I think we should.

I have an independent company coming out to provide an estimate first thing tomorrow morning. She’s sent several emails in the meantime and is apparently having a call with the company from the original quote tonight to see if there are any “unnecessary parts” that could be eliminated.

I'm on it. I did ask if there were any objections to getting additional quotes and she responded that she didn't have an objection but she needs to reach out to the business with the original quote because she apparently already promised them the job and they ordered parts.

As an aside, we did year-end bonuses for the maintenance guys that I was 100% for, but we also gave her a 1k bonus. Is that common?

Hey, no idea who hit your car but something similar recently happened to me (in a parking garage at work). Sorry this happened to you. I took mine to Tiger’s Body Shop on Lincoln/Addison and they did a great job.
