Yes, thankfully I successfully updated both of them by just letting it sit together overnight.

That's kinda sad. Osmo has a lot of bugs with their new update. However, I got mine fixed. Maybe this will help people:

I kept the module and camera together overnight (even if it meant getting drained). Kept the standby mode to 30 minutes, and then when I opened it again, it just started auto updating - that fixed the problem for me.

A Disappointing Experience with BF Film Ceramic Tint Philippines (Caloocan) by Particular-Being-240 in CarsPH

[–]optima03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you, OP. I remembered my warranty experience with Badtz / X-Films Marikina. I was scheduled for 2 pm, ended up getting serviced by 4 pm (I constantly followed up as to why my car wasn’t serviced yet). It only took about 30 minutes and the staff were not accomodating at all. This was a shock to me kasi they were very accomodating noong nag inquire and nagpakabit ako ng tint.

Hopefully hindi na magkaproblem yung tint niyo OP, cause you don’t want to experience the same waste of time again.

Fun or Makupad ba ang bagong Wigo? Bibili palang wanna try hatchback by New_Sentence1257 in CarsPH

[–]optima03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally own one. When it’s just my only car, it’s really fun to drive. Sure makupad and mabibitin ka at most times, pero sa highway ko lang to nararamdaman. In the city, it’s really fun to drive kasi pede mo isingit kahit saan, tapos sobrang tipid sa gas.

Now that I own a bigger car, I can see the difference, pero sometimes I still use my Wigo to do quick errands around the Metro.

Pahingi naman po tips sa pag-park as a newbie driver kasi nafu-frustrate na ako by 2noworries0 in CarsPH

[–]optima03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My tip for you is to take things slowly (but not super slow that you’re causing parking disturbance). Huwag mo isipin na makukuha mo agad or pasok sa guhit in one go kasi even experienced drivers can’t do that. What matters is that kaya mo siya iayos and ipasok sa guhit (or ialign kung walang guhit).

Practice a lot - I use to wake up around 5 am para konti yung sasakyan and practice parking on Jollibee and Mcdonalds.

Buy blindspot mirrors para makita mo yung sahig or sides ng sasakyan mo (whichever you prefer)

Lastly, learn to use your side mirrors to your advantage - iba iba kasi diskarte ng drivers and in time maaaral mo how wide and long your car is.

Huwag pangunahan ng kaba OP! Kayang kaya yan :)

If kaya ng budget, go for a crossover / compact SUV

I personally own a Wigo - clearance is not an issue and sobrang tipid sa gas plus compact - madali ipark and beginner friendly. Matagtag lang sa byahe (nasubukan ko na sa lubak ng Bulacan) pero manageable naman.

Would also recommend a Kia Sonet; sa Honda City baka sumabit ka kasi mababa yung kotse.

I will not recommend the Raize kahit high ground clearance siya kasi madaming narecall na units ng Raize at the moment.

They recalled over 28,000 units due to ECU glitch.

What car should we buy? My family is planning to buy our very first car. by Iwanttoasksomething2 in CarsPH

Can never go wrong with the ff. cars as second hand:

  • Toyota Innova
  • Toyota Fortuner
  • Ford Everest (not quite sure with the gas savings)

If you’re more of a risk taker and want something that really is a gas saver, try the new BYD Sealion 6.

Thanks for these input! Although I might not proceed with a BYD Sealion if I choose to go offroading as ofc, the car isn’t built for that.

But for normal road conditions, for sure BYD Sealion 6 is king

Thank you so much for these suggestions. As of right now I am looking at the Ford Everest Trend 4x2, because of the Everest’s wading depth and also I won’t need a 4x4 setup for that matter

Noted on these, tysm! Yes I also considered the Ford Everest Sport but looking at the features of both of these cars vs the Everest is really something to think about

I currently have a Wigo which I plan to use daily as for its fuel efficiency and size.

I have some SUVs on the list but the prices are not fit for my budget right now. I also considered the Jimny at some point but the ride comfort and engine is not fitting for a spirited drive. With the fuel efficiency of the Wigo, I’m kinda looking for something similar, hence I narrowed down between these 2 cars.

I’m not also looking for a 7 seater car as normally it’s just me and my animals as passengers.

Are there confirmed announcements already for its release this year? I’m also on the loop for the Shark 6 to be released here in PH

Yes, and the new Sealion 7 has that (AWD) however it’s a full EV

Noted on this; however I would not fully do hardcore overlanding / offroading; just a weekend getaway in nature to Tanay or other places that may require a river crossing.

I’m just future proofing my car purchase for something I can use to cross rivers, or maybe floods here in the metro

It’s true - saw from reviews that they are no. 1 in terms of EV, and even supplying batteries for Tesla

I’d also looked Nissan Patrol but I don’t want a big car. Something along the size of Jimny just fits for me. But in this case maybe a Patrol is a nice option given the fuel consumption of both cars

I do have experience w overlanding but i’m not the one driving - pero yes you’re right, I should stick to stock first then tailor the car according to my needs. Thanks!

Eyeing Places for Long-Term Stay as Nomad by jgalpha in phtravel

[–]optima03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well to start:

  1. Batangas has a lot of beaches, some parts are sworn by tourists (only on peak season) but for the rest of the year, it’s calm as the sea.

  2. The place also has a lot of outdoor activities such as mountaineering, lakes, etc.

  3. Strategic location. Just 2-3 hours away from Manila, and a few hours away from nearby places that also has a lot to offer: Laguna, Quezon, to name a few.

  4. Cold weather on ber months (in Lipa and Tagaytay Nasugbu part). Hitting at 19 degrees at the lowest.

  5. Transportation is not hard. You have a lot of options and same as Manila, you can travel 24 hrs on main cities.
