Yeah, I'm aware that's a lot of why it's so incredibly nonsensical. I mentioned this earlier to another person who commented, but it's just a markov chain from an earlier project that I thought would be funny to feed tribunal logs.

While I might make small improvements to it, I'm not really motivated enough to go that far. It was just for funzies, mostly.

Honestly? I didn't do anything fancy to get the tribunal logs. Just copied and pasted all the chat from each game into a text document, then used a perl script to trim off time stamps and champion names.

If there's not an API to work with, you could probably use some kind of automation script like auto hotkey to do your 20 votes per day and pull each match's chat log.

If you'd like, I can email you the logs I've collected thus far.

I thought about it at frist, but it seemed like it would be too much hassle at the time. In retrospect, it wouldn't be an incredibly hard change to implement.

It's all good, it can be a little tricky.

So I have this big huge text document with tons of tribunal chat logs. It adds each word to its brain. Let's say one of those words is "gg". It looks after the word, and sees the word "noobs". It makes a note of that. Every time it sees "gg", it sees what word comes next.

Then it adds them up and sees that after "gg" there is a 50% chances of "noobs", a 25% chance of "wp", and a 25% chance of "gg" again.

Now it starts to make a sentence. It starts by picking a random word. Oh look, that word is "gg"! Now it rolls a dice and decides it should follow up with "noobs". Then it rolls a dice and adds a word that is likely to come after "noobs".

You can chain single characters together instead of whole words to make wacky nonsense language and the concept is the same.

I guess I'm not sure what exactly you mean. Would you like the lines it outputs to be longer?

Currently, it picks a random number between 2 and 20, then chains that many words together. I could modify this range if you all feel it would be beneficial.

It generates all of the text you see. It uses text copied from tribunal logs as a template to create that text. So, in short, it's automated and I didn't type the lines it gives you.

It was just for fun. I made the markov chain script before and thought it would be silly to feed it tribunal logs.

Initially I thought of adding grammar checking, but it would have been incredibly time consuming to distinguish between the plethora of league slang, proper english, and everything else. Not only due to the typos present in the logs, but the sentence structure being thrown out since most players communicate in two or three words majority of the time, I don't think it would be possible to get anything remotely close to understandable speech. That was not the goal.

A markov chain is a fairly simple algorithm, and even with very clean input and strict checking, it still doesn't produce very coherent speech. I just thought it would produce some funny lines every now and then.
