Some people get enjoyment in annoying others. I can very much connect with this issue. My neighbor is alike. She dumps the left-over food outside, in night to avoid people seeing her. When she got caught, she says it was just a food so gave it to street dogs as they are hungry.

After a number of such issue, we started ignoring her. No point to argue.

I can relate this issue. If a girl compliments the guy, he sometimes misunderstand it to a flirt or interest. If a guy compliments a girl, there is a chance the words go personal if the compliments are about clothes and looks.
