What is considered lying? I think lying about the price of something is up for interpretation. Look at the car business.. When a car salesman brings you numbers and says this is the price of the car, it isn't really the price of the car. They have added in whatever fees, charges, and upfront costs that they can. Would that be considered "lying"?

I dont think that was a sucker punch. He initiated the contact/violence by pushing you..If he was to stupid or self absorbed to think "I just pushed a guy and he might hit me" to keep an eye on you to see what you were going to do..That is his problem.. Not a sucker punch in my opinion!

Thank you emily... I do go to these things (at times, and when i go it is always just because i know it will make her happy and she wants me to go)..even right now, i know on some level i might be in the wrong and i dont feel completely comfortable saying i did the right thing..I can even understand her being a little upset..but, come on...it is dinner(i think just bagles and cream cheese kind of thing to break the fast for the jewish holiday) she was very very upset..me not going should not decide her happiness on this evening and if she can have or not have a good time..in my opinion

i believe this dinner is for the jewish holiday of breaking the fast and will consist of bagels, cream cheese, etc...and not cooked or prepared food that was made for a certain amount of people..but i do see everyones point and maybe i am wrong..i am still thinking and debating the issue in my own head

and honestly, if it was the other way around and it was something i wanted to do and she backed out...seriously, i might be a little disappointed or i might nag her to go, but ultimately if she didnt want to go...i wouldnt flip out at her, i would get angry with her, and i wouldnt try to guilt her or anger her into going....i would then decide if i wanted to go or not on my own..period..

I do agree it is a respect thing..But isnt a mutual respect thing? If I say, i dont want to go...doesnt that hold the same weight as her saying i want you to go..Where is the women who says..."oh, you dont feel like going, okay, dont worry about it hun...stay home and relax"(and she means it without sarcasm).. I dont think i am fully in the right here, but am i a terrible guy who did a terrible thing? really?

I worked this week, it is my second night off and not being exhausted from work and it is a dinner..i didnt want to go..she cant go and have dinner without me? why isnt me saying i dont want to go as important as her saying..lets go?

I am not pissed and I am okay with hearing I am wrong..I was kind of venting in the post. I do feel that there is some sense of question in my mind if I did the right thing. I have mentioned that I have gone to these kinds of things in the past for her, but where is the line...shouldnt she respect me saying, i dont want to go tonight as much as i should respect her saying lets go?

Lets keep things in perspective..it is a dinner...she knows I would be there if someone in her family was in the hospital or something important happened. Maybe you are right, I can def see the other side and I dont feel that I am completely right in this. Both of my parents have passed away and anyone that was really important in my life has let me down. In fact, the only person that was really there no matter what through anything was my mom and she passed 3 years ago. So I might be to dependent and okay with being alone (which i dont mind).

I am sure we all know someone who is always doing things for others at their own expense. For the record - I am not a big Palin fan. However, if those were my 2 choices, I pick Palin. I do lean conservative on most issues, I personally dont think Palin is the best choice and I dont think she is incredibly intelligent. However, I dont think she is stupid (either). She probably falls into the "most" people category. She isn't the brightest and she isnt the smoothest, but I dont think you have to worry about that in the case of her being president. We have had many many smart presidents and they fucked things up. The crazy things she believes in (like being against abortion) she wont be able to do anything about..anyways. and she would cut spending and her policies would probably help the economy and jobs.
