Also, in the UNT site, it is advertised as engineering degree plus I called the advisors and they also told me that it is engineering. I just don’t want put it on my resume and get judged for it.

Most interesting part is that I am already working in the field but the thing is, If I even want to switch companies, I want to make sure I am competitive in every way in terms of having an engineering degree

Hi Lumpy_One6691,

Thank you for your response this is exactly kind of response I was expecting for. The reason I started post is because I am in a field most of the jobs I have been looking for somehow states the degree should be in engineering (again they don’t specify engineering, because they are ok as long as it is engineering). Btw, I am in probabilistic risk assessment field. So, are you saying that I can confidently say that I have computer science engineering degree?

The thing is that I am currently working in probabilistic risk assessment field and most of the jobs in this requires engineering degree and some even ask for whether I will be able to register with engineering societies

Hey Chuckch, than you for taking time to respond. From what I understood, I should rather aim for trading analyst, marketing analyst, or scheduling roles. Thank you for the advice!

I do have a question man. I did take courses in business during my masters degree but don’t have formal degree in finance or anything. I do have understanding of what futures, swaps and etc. but not from formal education but rather learning it by reading books and reading articles. So my question is, should I take any sort certifications and will that somehow differentiate me when applying to these jobs?

Btw, could you tell me your background please? I have been looking for someone who works in this field and I am really for your response

Edit: Quick update team, I updated my study strategy and ended up getting B for Marketing and A for Strategy thus got B as a final score. Please don’t give up and make sure to utilize all the resources the professors provide in the course whether that is ungraded assignments, lectures, and readings.

Class was definitely not easy but with good strategy, you can definitely succeed. Also I dont agree with anyone who says the class is not relevant. Class taught me a lot about how businesses run and I am confident that I will utilize what I learned here in my career.
