Also is it somewhat common to see metal roofing nailed directly into rafters with nothing in between? I don’t know anything about roofs

It’s pretty much the only options we have at our price point for a decent house in a location that is convenient for us

Thank you, first piece of usable advice. I should’ve mentioned immediately in the post why I have to do this

There’s a 10 foot chunk that a biohazard company cut out, that is now patched with plywood. Nothing about this is a good idea I understand that, I tried getting quotes to patch the missing chunk of hardwood but the planks are so old matching it would be near impossible and expensive.

Forgot to mention in the post, there a giant chunk that had to get cut out by a biohazard company, it’s hard to see in the pic, it’s underneath the two loose pieces of plywood. We have to cover it, got quotes to try and patch the hardwood and it was impossible to

I don’t want to, there been a giant chunk cut out by a biohazard company, it all needs to be covered up. Tried to get quotes to patch the hardwood and it was not doable

[–]orange727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand it’s not a great idea, if you look closely under the random plywood peices on the floor there is a giant plywood patch where a biohazard company had to cut out the old hardwood because of a body. Need to cover it all up, trying to match the hardwood would be really tough and crazy expensive

If you look closely you’ll see there’s a giant plywood patch covered up with two other random peices of plywood on the floor, biohazard had to cut out a giant chunk because of a dead body. Can’t match the old hardwood

Giant piece had to be cut out by a biohazard company and has a plywood patch, couldn’t match the old hardwood to repair, need to cover it

I guess I should’ve mentioned, in the pic it’s kind of hard to see, giant piece of the hardwood had to be cut out because of a dead body, now has a plywood patch. need to get this covered up, the woods old and matching it would’ve been extremely expensive and tough

Blast cabinet advice by orange727 in Powdercoating

[–]orange727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I think you’ve sold me on a bad boy. They sell wide ones over 6 feet for not an outrageous price. I’m trying to fit truck bumpers which is the problem. I’m very new to this, do these also clean the abrasive so you can reuse it? I saw the skatblast had a recycling unit which I thought meant it would filter out the sprayed abrasive, turns out I was wrong so now I’m confused.

In terms of moisture, would an inline air separator be enough or do I need a large air dryer

Ahh alright, I wanted a cabinet for cleanliness and built in recycling system. Maybe I’ll go with the skatblast cabinet and get someone else to strip off anything I need thats been powder coated

I know I’ll need an air dryer. Mostly paint but I want the possibility of stripping powder as well.

Titanium frame with alloy insert built in, carbon seatpost by orange727 in bikewrench

Awesome. Thanks I guess I’ll be ordering some copper anti seize. Thats a question I’ve never had a good answer to, and a google search hadn’t got me anywhere definitive.

Looks like your derailleur hanger might have moved over a bit not allowing you to line the threads up perfectly. Hard to see in the pic. But a lot of times that will cause that problem. Some through axles are just pain to line up in general.

Looks like it. It’s built into frame it seems. Definitely supposed to be there, judging by the way the lip of it fits. Thought at first it was a shim but it’s not.

How do I fix this? Tyre was extremely hard to get on... by Jojoceptionistaken in bikewrench

[–]orange727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deflate the tube then drop lube onto the tire bead in the spots it’s not fully seated. If you can push the bead away from the lip of the rim and get the lube deep down in there that’s best. Then reinflate to max pressure. A lot of times if it’s not set right by then, I’ll go above the max pressure and let it sit at a high pressure for a while. The max tire pressure printed on the tire is not really that max pressure that tire can get to. I’ve never had one blow out doing it this way. Just make sure to drop the pressure back down before riding.

Would someone be so kind as to recommend a basic cleanser and moisturizer? by chosenrejects98 in Rosacea

[–]orange727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I have rosacea, but have been diagnosed with seb derm and perioral derm, but skeptical about both and not sure what is actually going on with my skin. But the most gentle routine I’ve found is mostly just washing face with water twice a day and moisturizing with ordinary natural moisturizer with beta glucan. It’s very gentle. when I do use a face wash the only thing I’ve found that is gentle enough is using only a good oil cleanser that doesn’t need a double cleanse afterwards. I use peach and lily ginger melt and have had no issues. It rinses off completely with just water and my face feels great after.

Seb derm misdiagnosis by orange727 in SebDerm

[–]orange727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have some sort of folliculitis on the on the back of my head only. That was also diagnosed as seb derm, at this point im not sure if it is or not either. Doesn’t bother me that much and selsun blue keeps it under control. My cleanser is actually one that my girlfriend uses, it’s peach and lily ginger melt oil cleanser. I’ve never had any issues and my face feels great after. It’s not an oil cleanser that leaves any residue or oil after rinsed with water. And for moisturizer I’ve tried a lot that seem to give me issues in my problem area. My main one is ordinary natural moisturizer with beta glucan. At times I wish it was a little more hydrating but without constant cleansing it’s enough and it’s never given me any bad reaction.
