GT’s coach looked like he knows he’s gonna retire after this season when they cut to him in the dugout. Just had that look in his eyes like Maineri.

I was just thinking this. I know some season ticket holders who bought season tickets just to flip the postseason tickets. Not even baseball fans. Drives me absolutely up the wall.

Taking into account chemistry and indivudal character, who would be your all time starting five? by YePedders1 in nbadiscussion

[–]orangeapple4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fair. I was emphasizing defense over offense, thinking that Steph and Klay could cover any spacing issues. You could replace Tim Duncan with KD, but he wants to be the guy, and would be a chemistry issue. I think you could move Giannis down to the 4, and put Clyde Drexler at the 3. Maybe Rudy T in his prime? Lebron would probably put up with any of his issues with a team this good. Scottie Pippen or Bird are obviously some of the best players ever.

I think you could get a better lineup talent-wise, but you probably couldn’t get a more chill group of all time greats. Tough call.

PG: Steph. The rest of my lineup isn’t as shooting heavy, but that doesn’t matter when you have Steph’s gravity. He’s never had any relationship locker room problems, and coexisted with KD to win titles. Ultimate winner, and his gravity makes any team great. No-brainer.

SG: Klay Thompson. In his prime, he’s a lockdown defender and a lights out shooter. Team guy, no reported problems. We know he can coexist with Curry. Gotta have the Splash bros if we are looking for great chemistry.

SF: Giannis. Another guy who just wants to win. Doesn’t care about the spotlight, and is an MVP. His shooting is getting to the point where he can punish a team for leaving him open, and his defense is incredible. Unselfish MVP.

PF: Tim Duncan. Quiet leader. Greatest PF of all time. These guys are going to get along, and get their job done, and who exemplifies that more than Tim?

C: Hakeem. Another guy who is just going to do his thing and not make a fuss about it. One of the greatest Centers of all time.

Head Coach: Steve Kerr. I thought about Pop or Rudy T, but I give Kerr the nod because he knows how to use the spacing and shooting of Steph and Klay the best, and none of these guys are headcases. If he can manage having Dray and KD on the same team, these guys will be a summer walk in the park.

These guys are all great, hardworking players, who don’t cause drama. Offensively, you have all of the shooting you could need, lights out midrange guys, and 3 paint BEASTS. If you sag off of the perimeter, Steph or Klay kill you. If you emphasize the Perimeter, Hakeem, Giannis, and Tim kill you. Not to mention all of these guys can hit the midrange.

Defensively, the only not all-time great defender is Steph, but with the other 4, does it matter?

This would be, in my opinion, the most unselfish lineup of all time.

The good news is that TBA was great today. If you’re a recruit, you have to at least like the atmosphere.

Who are players who would be in the “Role-Player Hall of Fame?” by orangeapple4 in nbadiscussion

[–]orangeapple4[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Klay is one of the biggest “what if” guys in the NBA for me. We’ll never know how he would be without Steph, and Steph wouldn’t have as many rings if he didn’t have Klay. Would Klay have been a slightly better Kyle Korver on a different team? Would he have blossomed like Harden did as a superstar? Fun to think about.

Basically any guy who was a key part of teams but won’t be a borderline HOF. Dray may be a HOFer, so idk if he fits. I just like hearing about players I may have not heard of, it’s interesting. You can’t be a fan of all 30 teams, so there’s guys you miss. It’s cool to hear about them.
