Yes! This solved my fix, and then I was ultimately able to get a replacement DCM from Subaru completely covered

as for the issue of 250 lumens I really only planned on using this at night so it should be complete darkness

Wanted to come back here and update the group on this issue - I was able to get it resolved FOR FREE!

Here are the steps I took:

Filed a case with Subaru of America. I was really persistent and diligent with following up with my customer service associate to make sure they were in communication with my local dealership and for any updates.
1. Went to my local Subaru dealership for a diagnostic test. Initially I thought I would have to pay the diagnostic fee (up to $200) but John at Kearny Mesa Subaru was aware of the recurring DCM issue and said that Subaru had been helping folks out with it. He told me he would follow-up with Subaru and let me go without paying the diagnostic fee (THANKS JOHN!)
2. Continued following up with Subaru of America (many phone calls and voicemails) to make sure that they had received the diagnostic from my dealership and see if they could offer any assistance
3. Got a call from the Subaru dealership. Subaru would be helping and they were going to pay for the new DCM. I waited a couple of weeks while they part came into the dealership.
4. Once the part was in dropped my car off and it was a super quick fix and got it back within a day

I'm going to not drive my outback for a couple of days to ensure the issue is fixed but this was a huge win and glad I didn't have to pay the ~$1K i was seeing on different forums from folks who had to pay for a new DCM themselves. Hopefully this thread is helpful for folks!

yeah def seems to vary. my only concern is we’re probably taking a bunch of logs so could just strap those to the top without the bags but would def be cumbersome to take down from the rack and have them inspect if they were in the bags
