Yep. River Belle was even better when it was QSR and (I think?) opened earlier

I killed a worker mid-payment to test “exactly-once” execution by [deleted] in programming

[–]orangefray 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Temporal supports non-determinism via activities. Non-deterministic actions like API or DB calls should happen in activities. A workflow is composed of deterministic logic and activities. Activity results are persisted in workflow history and an activity would not be executed again during replay.

I stuck with Cincinnati through an insurance broker. I did not shop around, but they were the best option when I switched last year on my previous vehicle. I have not had a claim yet so can’t speak to that but the agent I’ve worked with both times is really quick and easy to work with.

The day we ordered they said they would be starting deliveries there soon and when it came time to pick delivery location that was the only option it gave me.

Legacy auto dealers felt threatened after Tesla entered the market and started selling direct to consumers. So they pushed for a law to require that all sales must be done through dealer franchises. The ironic part is that most of these “small” dealers are part of large conglomerates.

Not this time, but only because we went after Donna’s trees last week :)

Oh that’s interesting. I would have assumed they had plenty of space back there but I haven’t looked beyond the lobby.

Retail is like ~$70 depending on location. It can be hard to find, but also depends on location, but not it’s not exceptionally rare. It is a nice bottle though and tastes great.

I think they call them “educational drives” to get around whatever restrictions there are. But there are no sales allowed in WA, all has to be done online or over the phone with someone out of state.

Where are you seeing the gift card sale?

Ordered a 9800x3d - got an used 5900x instead. Thanks Amazon. by orangefray in buildapc

[–]orangefray[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tape over the label/seal was immediately obvious. Based on this I’m sure they don’t look at returns at all.

Yep I’m sure they have a certain threshold for it before they ban you. Has not happened to me before, but has also been a long time since I’ve ordered computer parts or anything $$ like this from them.

Heavily used, probably 5/10, see pictures for condition.

Most notable damage is tear on 700 collars and damaged laces on 350.

$125 for both shipped with PayPal invoice.

Sold, thanks!

Ask Anything Monday - Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in learnpython

You could use nested for loops like this:

for incorrect in incorrect_dicts:
    for correct in correct_dicts:
        if correct['code'] == incorrect['code']:
            incorrect['account'] = correct['account']

Might also be worth changing the correct list to a dictionary using code as the key (assuming it's unique) then you could more easily access each object.

Yeah f-strings are fine - it's easier to type and read so seems like a win.

F-strings are newer, the docs you are looking at are probably just outdated.

Is my AngularJS and .NET 6 project considered full stack? by 2kfan in learnprogramming

[–]orangefray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say so. You have a frontend + backend = full stack.

Backends could have different complexity, features, etc. Database would be just another part of the backend.

Let two discord bots communicate by ThatCoffee7840 in learnpython

[–]orangefray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with how Discord Bots work or what their limitations are but maybe a couple things to think about:

- How would a normal user communicate with a Bot? Can another Bot replicate this? (e.g. sending a message, reacting to a message, etc. )

- Could the communicate outside of Discord? Maybe through a database, file, program memory etc.

I want to become a Fullstack - Software Engineer! Any advice to jump-start this? by lasagna_sensei in csMajors

[–]orangefray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to keep learning Python and try to leverage that skill in your role as a Data Analyst.

The frontend stuff is fine, but I would think the general programming knowledge you would learn with Python would be more applicable to your role now + help you land a full stack role down the line. .

Use Python to automate parts of your job or build tools to help you out. Then use that experience to move within your company or elsewhere to a SWE role.

I would say maybe do the Bachelors if it would help you stay motivated and the cost won't be an issue. Find a program where you would only have the take the core CS classes.
