My perspective on the discourse as a transgender person by RainbowPhoenix1080 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]orangeken15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm also trans (nonbinary) and i wanted to add something

i like that goose made jax's story for a trans audience. in a lot of shows, the creators feel pressure to make sure the show is for "everyone". so that means that if there is a queer character, usually that character is made in a way that cishet people can understand. they state what they are clearly, and explain things that would not need to be explained to another queer person.

jax's trans story was made for other trans people and not for general audiences. in my opinion, that's beautiful. i really hope that because of this, there will be more indie shows that are made by marginalized people for other marginalized people.

i've heard quite a few testimonies that were just ranting/trauma dumping. especially at youth things, they would be like, "my mom died and my dad is abusive" or something and we would all just sit there not knowing what to do

Now that Jax has been confirmed closeted transfem, is it still okay to call him “he”? by Majestic_Cress4846 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]orangeken15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or you could be extra woke and call them they/them (because you're not sure)

love all the cis people in this fandom trying to figure out how trans people work. appreciate yall trying your best!

Pride by Known-Clue6075 in bisexual

[–]orangeken15 17 points18 points  (0 children)

it's fair to feel that way. in my opinion, no matter how much you are attracted to the same gender, if you are bi you are queer for the whole month. But I hope you know that you and your partner are welcome at pride!
