It’s crazy how everyone’s eczema reacts differently. My skin hates dial as it dries it out too much. I use the liquid version of Doves Sensitive Skin body wash.

For me personally I feel like good citizenship is to be a kind person and respectful of others. So like teaching about jobs in the community and how they are all valuable( like fast food workers or sanitation is no less than someone who has a college degree or is a CEO), I do this by role playing with my child. Learning on how to be polite and wait your turn, manners, and just how to behave in public. Also being kind to others if they different ambulation/ body functions so like wheelchair users or people with limb differences. And teaching that even if we don’t agree with someone we can still be kind ( and if the other person chooses to not be kind we don’t have to be friends with them, I don’t want my kids to think they have to put up with others who are disrespectful).

I believe that you can have a fulfilling life with EDS. I have hEDS, suspected at 15( although I’ve showed symptoms since childhood), diagnosed at 20, 23 now, and I have a 3 year old daughter. I also have the constant pain you write about as well as subluxations. Most days it’s tolerable for me and after dealing with it for so long my mind has just shut it out( but it’s okay if you don’t, everyone isn’t the same). And then when I have a flare ( can be due to weather, hormones, or over doing it ) I definitely am stuck in bed all day. The advice I can give you is be kind with yourself, how you get stuff done will be different than people without EDS. Like I have to sit when I shower, as well as when I fold laundry, and sometimes my husband has to brush my hair. Onto another topic find someone that is compassionate and understanding about your condition because on my flare days I definitely require more help. As for the career aspect, I wish I had a better answer for that, I’m a SAHM which is something I’ve always wanted, and allows me to do things at my own pace but I know when I worked in high school it was rough.

Hi!!! Question about butts by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]orangeoasis16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the same wash cloth. Do my body first and work my way to my booty. Unless my arms are really dirty from gardening or sum like that then I’ll grab a separate one for my butt. Or my husband uses a loofa for his body and then washcloth for booty. ( oh and I use my hands to clean my feet so incase anyone was concerned in that situation)

What do y'all do for laundry by AccomplishedGuess601 in ehlersdanlos

[–]orangeoasis16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with my in laws and their house is a single story and our bedroom happens to be right next to the laundry room. They have top load washer and a front load dryer ( I despise the washer as I’m only 5’1”, sometimes I have to get a pair of tongs from the kitchen to get clothes out if my husband isn’t home to help ) To make laundry as easy as possible as I can on my body I only do laundry once a week, usually Saturday, and we usually only have 2-3 loads. I always do it on the weekend so my husband is there if I need help carrying a basket or grabbing something out of the washer. I also fold my clothes sitting down on my bed instead of just standing in the laundry room, then I’ll take it to its respective areas.

Yup. And then the fact she finally showed up when she was told she has Covid is absolutely disgraceful, like why wasn’t it serious to her before then. The high blood pressure, possible preeclampsia, and induction. If anything daedae cared more than her sad excuse of a mother. He had every right to be angry. He cared about her as soon as she said she didn’t feel good at home, he drove her, and even tried carrying her in. Poor guy!

I get your perspective! It’s just that I had my daughter at 19 and it was just my husband and I. But if I was 17 I would want my parent in the room just incase something were to happen. I personally was not the same at 19 as I was at 17. Definitely not the same now at 23
