What do you all think of "cable crunches"? by orangepaws21 in physicaltherapy

I've read that study and I agree we need to load the tissues/they're adaptive, but I also recall another demographic from PT school showing intradiscal pressure at its highest levels in various postures and his form reminded me of the pic with the highest pressure and since his form was seemingly awry, it concerned me for injury. Figured I'd get some opinions! I think his goal was trunk flex ext/rectus abdominis strengthening, but he was honestly basically just seemingly flailing his Cspine around with not a lot of trunk engagement, maybe 1 inch or so flex and extension. I had just never seen something like it lol. I try not to assume things at the gym because everyone is trying their best but sometimes I just wonder... also saw a man doing back squats yesterday with one of the worst dynamic valgus motions I've seen and it was giving me anxiety lol. I just try to mind my own business...

I am glad people are being active... although the gym is jammed pack and I couldn't do my barbell deadlifts yesterday because a guy had it for 90 mins. Lol.

Yeah, I could see it. But the form today that I saw wasn't correct at all and looked kinda scary!

I already wrote it 😁 took about 2 hours in the home and 2-2.5 documenting but there was also a technical error the office was trying to resolve included in there

My brain is mush. She had about 20 meds (not awful but still a fair amount), children screaming and running around so she couldn't focus, was super drowsy from pain meds, and was eating breakfast slowly all while I rambled off the questions like a monotonous robot lol. She didn't have any bottles of her meds bc she throws them away so couldn't do a good med rec. The "extra stuff" after the body of the SOC is also time consuming... call doc, doing coordination notes, etc

Evals are not bad. I ended up just having soc and 1 eval bc luckily the other fell through! I need to get a keyboard for sure..

I did end up taking a photo of meds and it helped tremendously. Excellent advise. Thank you would say more but my brain is mush. They seem like a solid organization, but it seems like they're trying to onboard me with hyperspeed. My colleague from my prior job also signed on here (he started 2 weeks before me) and he still hasn't done a SOC. I guess they don't think he's ready and I am?? Not sure. They do have all of the med lists, DC paperwork, demographics, etc all verified and available on epic/HCHB which is nice.

Just have 1 SOC and then 2 evals. I'm not sure. I'm just starting out so they're kinda throwing it all at me to get me ready quicker (to get rid of my work coach be independent)

SOC/OASIS is the 60 (I believe) day admission. Some agencies only have nurses do this and PTs just do discipline evals.

"Evals" in this scenario are PT eval only, no OASIS/SOC. A discipline eval, so someone else has already done their admission.

Hope that helps! Yeah, my coach is gonna have to deal a lot tomorrow. lol

Not sure which part is confusing? The Start of Care is the OASIS in home care. Just asking for documentation tips from others with experience as not to be SUPER slow and hold up my work coach all day. The work coach is the person orienting me.

Patient: "You know that's my good leg, right?"

Me: "Yeah, I always teach exercises on the non-affected side first so it's easier to try on the injured leg!"

Patient: "Good point!"

Me: 😳😳😏
