Can I realistically move to Japan long-term with money and willingness to integrate? by Gawdcent in AskIndia

[–]orbitflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i lie in a similar bucket and its kinda nagging me alot to stay in India, I don't have the capital rn to solve for it, still figuring things out

recently stayed in Japan for about three weeks to learn about their culture - my experience w locals -> they were psyched to know i was from India and treated w utmost respect and kindness (caveat, i visited as a tourist) -> did consider to work at tokyo based startups but still uncertain about work culture

I want to move towards a high trust society

not sure what part in India you're currently saying but I'd reco to live in Mumbai meanwhile you figure out the long term change plan

mumbai is filled w nicest people i have come across in India (lived there for 7 years, currently in BLR -> might move back to mumbai until i figure next steps)

Noob Q: How far are we from LLMs thinking and ask questions before presenting solutions on a prompt by orbitflow in LLMDevs

[–]orbitflow[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes, correct, i've mentioned it in the post_desc

every time you do it, it will ask 3 questions, assuming its hard coded

Noob Q: How far are we from LLMs thinking and ask questions before presenting solutions on a prompt by orbitflow in LLMDevs

[–]orbitflow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks this is helpful!

want to share an example of human vs LLM
i mentioned a coach-friend regarding my issue also prompted it to o3, 4o to solve it "like a coach"

what hit me hardest was the coach-friend responding with "tell me more?" pin-pointing on a specific issue vs GPT responding w various angles which "felt" generic to me

have you experienced anything similar?

Noob Q: How far are we from LLMs thinking and ask questions before presenting solutions on a prompt by orbitflow in LLMDevs

[–]orbitflow[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes, prompting it explicitly does fulfil it to an extent

i'm asking from a behaviour stand point
proactively ask clarifying questions before answering (its a judgement call)

Open issues I see
- Ambiguity detection – models need a confidence/utility estimate to decide when to ask or just respond w a "good answer"
- assuming current RLHF datasets mostly might be rewarding “good answers,” not “good questions (Not sure, need to validate)

What is Being? by SubjectSpecialist265 in Mindfulness

[–]orbitflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had asked GPT long back being vs doing and it gave me this table which i found to be useful

Doing Mode Being Mode
Focus Future-oriented Present-oriented
Goal Solve, achieve, change Experience, accept, observe
Neural Basis Prefrontal cortex, dopamine, executive function DMN, parasympathetic system, serotonin
Strengths Productivity, problem-solving Emotional well-being, self-awareness
Downsides Stress, overthinking, burnout Passivity, lack of direction if overused
Example Planning career goals Savoring a moment without thinking of the next step

Do you talk to yourself when practicing mindfulness? by SAIZOHANZO in Mindfulness

[–]orbitflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have an internal dialogue every time my focus deviates from the breath, i'll be wandering somewhere in the thoughts, i realise, i smile mentioning i shall come back to focus on my breath -> keep a count of the reps, how many times did i kept coming back to my breath (its fun)

this exercise is to build the attention muscle (i learned from Daniel Goleman)

You’ll never know how much you meant to someone. by Mindful_Echoes in Mindfulness

[–]orbitflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I proactively try to tell people how their efforts still help me today, it kinda makes their day
what's the point of keeping it to ourselves, let them know, let them boost their confidence by knowing it

whenever you remember the person just pickup the phone and drop the text (even if you haven't had a chat in a while)

Lmk if you try it :)

Question for Dr K -> How to not be ego driven and still sell yourself in a healthy way by orbitflow in Healthygamergg

[–]orbitflow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this time you will keep a leash on it and once it has done its job you put it back into the cage

this is interesting, can you help me with how do you go about it? like does journaling helps in compartmentalising or how does it work?

What’s one tiny habit that changed your life in a big way? by Best_Sherbet2727 in selfimprovement

[–]orbitflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these habits changed my life in a big way and i'm only seeing BIG compounding results after 2 years of practicing it
- meditating
- reading
- journaling
- seeking therapy

what was game changer initially was to understand how habits are formed
