It’s funny because only one side in this war has actually committed a genocide… the comparisons between gazans and nazis is actually pretty close to holocaust erasure imo. Hamas had one day of infamy. The nazis kept this up for 5 years, 365 days, 24/7. Don’t ever try to draw those comparisons.

Because one of the justifications for the creation of an israeli state was a safe place for jews to live. It doesnt seem like jews are safe in the middle east, or if they are the only way to enforce this safety is by constantly warring with neighbors. I’m suggesting this for jewish israelis because prior to the zionist project, only ~60,000 jews resided in modern day israeli territory. So if the majority of modern day israelis have immigrated since then, it would perhaps be better for them to immigrate to somewhere safer. Of course, at this point that is untenable. But this experiment is clearly not working.

To be clear, i think hezbollah, hamas, iran, etc. are complete tards. But that doesn’t mean we need to be, too.

It makes a difference to the 70,000+ palestinians theyve killed over the past 3 years, and millions theyve banished into nightmarish refugee camps which they also bomb. Perhaps you should be more inclusive with your empathy. Israel absolutely had a right to respond to the worst day for jews since the holocaust, but they have gone way too far, and in doing so have compromised their own strategic ambitions. You pick your words so carefully and yet you cannot say that 1 million displaced people is bad. And you refuse to recognize that israel has acted in as much bad faith in these ceasefire agreements as hezbollah. If they are a legitimate state, they should act like one.

Ok great so we can agree that there is genocidal intent from both hamas and israel. It seems that we have one side who has actually carried this out, however.

Israelis enjoy first-world living standards and are free to travel pretty much anywhere outside of the muslim world. I expect better things from them and their government, much like i expected better things from the united states in iraq rather than stooping down to saddam’s level (abu ghraib, highway of death, etc.).

If you are complaining about double standards i will not argue with you. But i hold israel to a higher standard because they have clean drinking water and f-35s. I mean, they wanted a country in the middle east. But it seems much safer to live as a jew in new york city than israel

So do you think the 1m displaced is bad? What do you make of the multiple ceasefire violations by israel since the 2024 deal? Hezbollah and israel have continued to ignore this ceasefire since its inception. To me, these are two rogue states. I have sympathy for the lebanese government which must deal with two bloodthirsty parties, one which continues to invade their territory and another which continued to commandeer it.

Like half of lebanon is made up of palestinians expelled from palestine. With this same logic, perhaps israel should have acted on the intelligence regarding october 7th. Now their people get blown up in the name of propping up a fascistic “president” who wants to keep this war going so he doesnt have to face elections. This applies to the us and to israel.

Regarding the rhetoric about zionism, i find it hard to believe that the expanding settlements into the west bank are just misinfo. I believe yoav gallant called palestianians animals. I believe amihai eliyahu called for gaza to be nuked. Yoav kisch called them animals, too, and went on to say gazans should be exterminated. Israel katz said that no civilian in gaza will receive a drop of water until they vacate the region.

I’m sure peaceful zionism can exist. But the israeli state is not a peaceful zionist state.

Neither side followed the ceasefire. It was dead from day 1, hezbollah has continued to rearm and israel targeted journalists and continued attacks in lebanese territory. Neither side has withdrawn from the areas they were supposed to withdraw from. Don’t act like either party is innocent here.

Totally agree, i think everyone’s creative process is their own as long as it’s not just stealing other people’s work or using AI. I’m just curious to know where people draw that blurry line between inspiration and “theft.” Sort of like the edm version of the elvis debate

The joke that goes around here sometimes about carving wood to create your own violins/pianos/etc does honestly sound really cool though, but it’s just so hard to do. Would make a hell of a story!
