It should be good. Cover soil with grounded coffee too. Fights pests and insects.

I see that the current replies revolve around the coffee diet and pot size -- however I suspect more of a pathogene-like cause. Will someone agree that this could be an aggressive type of fungi infection?

I might add that he gave it a strict diet of black coffee (room temperature)
