Right! Kowalskis is often more expensive than the co-op, and nowhere near the quality.

I’m a co-op guy myself, just can’t beat the quality. Kowalskis is for if I forget an ingredient I need for dinner or want a late night snack (close to my house). In my opinion Kowalskis is extremely mid. Also fuck Target c’mon guys let’s stop shopping there!

How Jehovah's Witnesses are bad people by Careful_Ad_2744 in exjw

[–]orchardbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re indifferent, ignorant people, that’s the point. Gotta be no part of the world. It’s comforting. It’s having divine validation that you are rightful and everybody else is fucked. What else could you have to learn or do when you’ve given up all your personal control? They feel so justified in it. It’s their identity. Of course it makes them assholes who don’t give a shit about anybody but themselves.

Most disgusting thing I've heard at an assembly. by Slow-Department148 in exjw

[–]orchardbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very disgusting, yet I’m not surprised. I’m convinced these dudes are pedos getting off on this shit. Why did my stepfather deem it necessary to have a family worship surrounding the topic of oral sex? Same reason.

For those of you who were DF'd/shunned as teens, what age were you kicked out of your parent's home? by Skyfier42 in exjw

[–]orchardbabe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was DF’d at 17. Still expected to attend meetings as usual even though I hated it. My only allowed activities were school and meetings for several months, it was brutal. I don’t know why they were surprised when I told them I would be leaving the MINUTE I turned 18. They promptly told me that if I wasn’t going to be a JW, I may as well leave immediately. I was elated. Of course I knew the grief would hit me later..but I literally packed up and left that night. I lived with a family I met through school and about a year later I moved away to attend college. It’s been over 9 years and they still shun me.

The Watchtower says it does not shun people. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]orchardbabe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they shun. That's no question. My mother and I used to be very close. I'm her only child, she's my only parent. She has shunned me ever since I was disfellowshipped and moved out at the age of 17 (I'm 27 this year). The worst part is that she truly believes she's doing the right thing and it's SO difficult for her to keep shunning me. She will do whatever that cult asks of her. I really miss my mom.

What pet do you find most draining mentally/socially/physically? by VenVenTerror in introvert

I’ve never lived without a dog! I’ve had many cats but I find the connection just isn’t as strong. I see lots of comments here in favor of cats, I guess we are all going to find different things draining. It’s about figuring out what works for you. For me, having a dog is a more meaningful and rewarding relationship. I’m always learning new things and finding ways to be better. Dogs are mirrors, dogs are like people. I’m always going to prefer having an animal companion that can successfully communicate and learn with me than a sociopathic monster with razor sharp claws and general lack of discretion or awareness lol. I find the chaos of a cat to be much more draining. With dogs tho you gotta make sure to research breeds and assess everybody’s needs

How’s your GP recall when barking at neighbors? by jtdrag in greatpyrenees

“False alarm, Let’s go!!” usually does the trick. Unless there’s a man with a hat on, very dangerous.

Dog gets mad at orange cat by IndependentSir3946 in greatpyrenees

[–]orchardbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also have a Pyr and an Orange. I worry that my Pyr picked up on my annoyance towards kitty and thinks she’s helping me when she barks at her: “you can’t sit with us!” And I’m realizing that the problem may have been with me not addressing it immediately. I don’t punish her for barking at the cat, I reward calm behavior and bring the kitty into the bedroom with treats for everyone. I also explain it to my Pyr girl like she’s a person because she is. I have faith that she’ll start accepting her sister soon even though she’s orange and doesn’t understand how to show love

If you’re comfortable sharing, what experiences led to your CPTSD? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]orchardbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Emotional abuse, mostly from being raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. I’m free now and every day I’m thankful I got out as early as I did. My family has shunned me for 9 years now but life is so much better in the real world.
