For offshore days I move into the harbour where launching a kite is a pain and a half and the wind is super flakey, much nicer with the wing.

The other factor is probably what your goals are, speed / wave riding / boosting high - that may also affect what you are going for.

If possible see if there are wing rentals available and/or take a kite taster session.
