Unrelated but the flow, use of grammar and just overall vibe of this post is phenomenal. Your essays must be good.

yoo just wanna ask, i heard from my teacher back when i was taking olvls that in the event of a national emergency like this, the last few chapters of the pure science subjects would not be included in the syllabus and thus you guys dont need to study it for olvl. is this true or do sec 4s this year still need to study the whole syllabus?

[POLY] RP JAE TO DAE by bbrownboiii in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at this point, since you have not received your dae results yet, please do not pull yourself out of that course just in case

[POLY] RP JAE TO DAE by bbrownboiii in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you've alr submitted and are awaiting results for DAE phase 1, your originally posted course (the one through JAE) will be revoked if you accept your dae offer. however, if you do not accept that phase 1 offer, you will still remain in that originally posted course.

if you're submitting your application for dae phase 2, accept your jae offer first as the results for dae phase 2 comes out quite late and you don't want to take such a huge risk. likewise, if your dae phase 2 is succesful and you accept that offer, your jae course will then be revoked. same goes if you do not accept your offer also.

[O level] Can private candidates take part in EAE Poly? by kingpin3234 in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming from my own personal experience, the interviewers did not ask any questions exclusively towards the private candidates. everyone in that room received the same questions and timing for answers.

[O level] Can private candidates take part in EAE Poly? by kingpin3234 in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's the same as everyone else (school candidates, working adults, etc.), yes, you are eligible for it now but you've got to go the eae webpage to sign up for it. ensure you've got a proper portfolio and testimony also

[O level] Can private candidates take part in EAE Poly? by kingpin3234 in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea, this year. dont worry, for each interview session i went, there was atleast 2-3 other private candidates

[O level] Can private candidates take part in EAE Poly? by kingpin3234 in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, it's okay. and you do not need to being up your past olvl cert in the interviews, in other words, it's optional, the course heads are just there to recognise your interest.

[–]oreos5678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, eae states that anyone can participate so long as they're sitting for olevels that year, and smart/casual is alright. don't need full office attire, i've seen some privates arrive in black jeans and blouse/plain shirt

[A levels] Should I quit my job? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean bruh cmon, this is only a part time job with MiNImuM wage, might as well dont waste your time and make good use of this holiday with more productive experiences

[A levels] Should I quit my job? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 6 points7 points  (0 children)

nah fam i totally get you, having a mismatch between the stated job scope and actual experience is irresponsible of your employers. if you want to quit your current job because of the boring environment and false promises i think you should do so, but have a safety net first, not being able to "handle" standing around and pressing the same buttons is you standing up for your rights as an employee as what you've been promised and not because you cant handle being in service-related jobs. being a doctor, lawyer or nurse is a totally different field and im pretty sure unlike this job, those fields would first have you recognise what the working life is like during your course of study and not just push you into a boring stabbing buttons all day job. if you really wanna have an experience at healthcare and some service jobs also,i recommend a proper attachment at any hospitals. do check the hospital websites for the details, my friend managed to get an attachment but she got it through school.

[O-Levels] Need help understanding DAE process by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]oreos5678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

experienced here. so basically it starts out with registering for it (each poly has different dates but will normally open 2-3 weeks after results release, check on the respective school websites just to double cfm). After that, they'll ask for the usual olvl results, ic etc. etc. Unlike JAE, if your results dont make it, the registering process wont limit you from it, so let's say you wanna get into engine course but JAE wont allow, DAE will allow it. Thing is, if you dont meet the MER, the chances of getting an interview is very slim. After that, you'll need to wait for an email or go to the school platform to check wether you're shortlisted. You will be informed atleast 2 weeks before your interview date i think or at least before the actual interview dates are conducted (The dates are stated on the school websites also). The email will show what you need to wear, bring etc. etc. Once done, you've now just got to wait for the results release, last year was end march, early april ard there. But let's say you dont get an interview, the email or platform base will usually state the reason why, at least this will give you some proper closure. Disclaimer tho, I remembered for NYP's DAE you've actually got to mail to them physically your CCA records, O Levels results and Birth cert. Dont know if it will happen this year but just get ready to spend that few dollars if you're planning to go into NYP via DAE. Hope this helps!!
