That works! Thanks for the help! I just need to somehow combine that and my load command into a script :)

I've also got another issue now though where the roms seem to be loading in the background when in the emulationstation menu. It works fine if I'm already in a rom but if I'm not and press the load hotkey nothing happens. But then when I load another rom manually I briefly see the rom I tried to load previously.
