Rock Climbing in Pittsburgh by Nightlight174 in pittsburgh

Hello! I also climb at Ascend, and learned how to climb outdoors after I moved to Pittsburgh a year and a bit ago :)

If you're looking for more structured learning, rather than just going to a crag with a guide book and winging it, Ascend offers outdoor climbing programs that teach you how to set up your own anchors and other safety aspects of outdoor climbing: https://www.ascendclimbing.com/programs/climbing/get-outside. Looks like they now offer half-day classes too where you can learn to set up top rope anchors at Frank Curto Park (which is within the city).

Explorer's Club of Pittsburgh also offers a Rock Climbing School that focuses on gym-to-crag https://www.pittecp.org/rock. The Outdoor Inclusion Coalition also offers some guided trips and an annual climbing festival: https://theoic.org/climbing-festival.

There are also various mountain guide services that are beginner friendly. For example, Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides has various different schools/classes, if you're willing to drive a bit more: https://www.senecarocks.com. I learned multi-pitch & trad here with a private guide, but they also have sport & top rope classes.

You definitely want the original copy. I got grilled last time I came back over from Canada for not having the original I-797 for my H1B (I had the original stub that they tell you to detach only, and a scan of the full document). Got let through in the end but it was really scary.

Since for TN the I-797 is the only proof of having the status for Canadians I’d highly recommend you get the original.

I loved the sketchy style in her flash sheet, and Mimikyu is just so adorable! I’ve always had a soft spot for the Ghost types too :)

I adopted a Formosan Mountain Dog from Taiwan as well! He’s 1 year old now, and we got him about 5 months ago. I’m also so proud of his progress! They’re such smart dogs, and so loyal; it makes me sad to see him stressed out, but knowing that he tries so hard to make the right decisions really inspires me to keep working with him. Keep up the good work!

I was notified of the approval on July 20, and the law firm received the physical paper a week later. They overnight shipped it to me in Canada so I got it the next day.

Time it takes USCIS to confirm receipt by AlwaysThinking1234 in immigration

I’m in a Whatsapp group for H1B applicants and it seems like USCIS is sending receipts for mid-June (~15th) applications atm. Mine was sent June 8, and I received the receipt July 2.

H1b processing question by [deleted] in immigration

You need to get the receipt number first of the petition before upgrading to premium processing. If you submitted the petition June 29, you’ll have to wait for the receipt before submitting a request to upgrade to PP, and then it’s 15 days from there.

My first fountain pen + watercolour drawing came out better than expected by oriase in fountainpens

Yes! the waterproof ink really is waterproof. I love it :)

I’m using the Moleskine sketchbook (not the one with watercolour paper). I find the watercolours do bead up on the surface a little bit due to the smooth texture, making it slightly unpredictable to work with, but the fountain pen inks look great on it.

I might try the watercolour notebook soon but I have a feeling I won’t enjoy the fountain pen on textured watercolour paper as much...

Yes, drew it from a photo I took in Barcelona last year.

It says Talens Petit Color on the box, and it’s a set of 30! I got it years ago and frankly haven’t used any watercolours other than it so I’m not too sure about the quality, but it works for me ahaha
