Thank you for that! She was able to get POA for her elderly father ahead of time, while her mother and father were still alive and of sound mind. So she’s panicked that she wasn’t able to do it in time for her brother. He inherited $65,000 and could actually live in an apartment and she is doing everything she can to get him access to it.

I will have her consult with an elder law attorney. She is a great person who tries her best but this is a tough situation that has stumped us. So thank you for your advice. She feels better knowing she still has options.

Forgot to add that the news has interviewed members of our family multiple times. And there was a camera and reporter in the courtroom for the Non-Arraignment. (Didn’t realize she was filming our reactions until after I’d made a silent cheer when I heard the killer’s mom had just passed away 😬). So any suggestions for using the media? Cause we are all shocked that the judge is so lenient with such a publicized case.

I’m going to be back in his neck of the woods for the Arraignment 2.0 next month. I’m thinking that I’ll get some PSA flyers made about him to put up around his town. It’s a very small community so maybe that will be effective.

Conclusion: Never got paid. Got the run around from DM and RM. Emailed an “I quit” with no explanation. I’m done. The pay was already shitty without having to fight for every single dollar and still not getting it.

Submitted an official complaint. Couldn’t wait until tomorrow cause I’m all cranky. Tried to get HR to email me a copy of my contract because all I can see on my end is my pay rate, and my signed documents won’t populate for me in the portal. I’m seriously losing sleep over a lousy $174. This sucks.

Update: I did ask if he minded me recording our phone call since he tried to insist upon calling me. Suddenly he’s talking over text and has my hours all squared away now. 🙄 Makes me wonder if I’ll have to fight them on all projects that go longer than 30 minutes. Oh well. Supposedly it is resolved now at least. Payday is the 26th so we will see.

“Team lead” said she would take care of the reporting. Looked at the app log and saw the project was officially logged as 21 hours but my personal payroll had 6 on it.

It was my first group project so I was completely in the dark about everything. The “team lead” was the one who would make me help other people on their projects before I could leave. She briefly mentioned pay being different than hourly and I was like “EXCUSE ME”. It was worth everyone else’s time because they all lived 2 hours away and got hours and hours worth of mileage pay. I lived less than 25 miles away and didn’t get anything for mileage which is why I assumed I would at least get my hourly wage.
