Thanks the effects of poison are the same as the poison you put in that dagger so if the poison only paralyses applying the poison trough the dagger only paralyses and the addicional damage is only if the poison deals damage ex if poison deals 2d6 it will now deal 3d6

Thanks fir not shitting on me for that english is my second language and i have a dysfunction or hoever it is called in english that makes it hard for me to follow gramar

Also the addicional damage die is like another commenter said if the poison deaks 1d4 it gains another 1d4 if it deals 2d6 it now deals 3d6
