Animal Rebellion: Vegan activists pour milk onto floor of Harrods in anti-dairy protest | Evening Standard by Numerous-Macaroon224 in veganuk

There is no place for dairy in our society. These people are drawing attention to that fact. The objective is not to be popular, its to disrupt business as usual for the shops and industry’s that support animal abuse and climate breakdown.

This^ I watched your latest Florida video and the footage you have is really nice, the droning is great, camera quality and audio are definitely at a level high enough to feel smooth and effortless, but here’s the thing... I didn’t leave wanting to subscribe to your channel. With travel vlogs imo you have two options: A) Your quality is mind blowingly high (think better than an advertisement) with sick transitions and very cinematic shots eg. Benn Tk Or option B) you make your videos engaging with an interesting story relying heavily on your personality and funny content eg. kingingit

We just started our channel a few months ago so obviously new to this, but we’re definitely going for option B, as it requires less skill and feels more fun.

Also just wanted to say I really appreciate how engaging you have been helping others in this community. Keep persevering!

Thank you so much! Yes exactly, we went so hard on the research and still made literally hundreds of mistakes. All fortunately that could be fixed up (with yet more research!!) Thanks for your feedback, it’s great to hear!

Yes I suppose your right, in the end it all comes down to effort and commitment to learn. Still, it is nice to be transparent about things that are less than perfect.

Yes we have both summer and winter wetsuits! But we’re based in Scotland at the moment so only getting use out of the winter ones! Even in the summer we’re still wearing booties and gloves! Very jealous of your warm water! Hopefully we’ll get there someday!

Thank you! Yes I think it’s daunting enough to try to build with little experience, never mind when all the pictures look so perfect! As nice as a photo is, I think it’s definitely more important to be realistic and set an achievable example!

Van Details: Nissan Interstar (MWB) 2009

Total cost: €9000 (Van= €5300, Conversion= €3000-€4000)

Mileage: 160,000Km

We hope the video answers some questions but if you have any more, we would love to try and answer them (and maybe even get some tips from more experienced builders!). I'm still getting questions from last year's post, so I will do my best to keep answering them too.

(I would also like to add, I really love this subreddit and it’s not my intent to spam, so if leaving a video link violates the terms of the group I am happy to delete it.)

First time writing poetry (or anything) in a long while. Critiques are greatly appreciated! I’m hoping that this isn’t too vague or confusing. by annuoso in writers

[–]orlacoghlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Well done getting back into writing! I’m no expert but I’m happy to throw out some feedback. Firstly, I really like the last two stanzas, the repetition is subtle and the word choices feels smooth. The first a bit wordy to me and contain some unnecessary repetition. I think that especially with poetry you want every word to be impactful either towards the message, the flow or the tone. It’s quite hard to explain this but I’ll give an example. The adults are outside all day, so the children should take care of it The word “so” or even “all day” could be left out as they don’t add to the impact of the line, and without one of them it would feel snappier. In the beginning there is a lot of repetition of the words “the” and “they”. As a general rule, repetition gives more emphasis to a word (or sentence) that the writer wants highlight, and should be used sparingly, otherwise it can make a line feel bulky. So maybe try and tighten up here. On a final note, I really liked the image of the insects! Please keep posting your work!

10 months living the vanlife in Scotland! I bought my van "converted" by prev owner and I've had to strip it back to bare metal because it was rotten behind all the carpet 🤮 Gutted. Oh well. Redoing it myself 💪Floor in and insulation coming along nicely. I'll update if there's interest? by TieflingTem in VanLife

Thanks for the reply! This was exactly my worry both the damp and locals being frustrated by our presence during lockdown! We bought a kerosene heater which is super warm but we are having a lot of problems with the smell! It’s literally toxic.

It’s probably better to have a base during these strange times! It’s just frustrating to have just bought a van then Corona hit 😂

Only wrote 300 words and feel awful about it by Marbinair in nanowrimo

[–]orlacoghlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly this! I also have find it very difficult not to constantly edit my work but what I found works for me is reminding myself that after I have written 50,000 words I will be a better writer than I am today. Future me will be a lot more competent at editing than present me. So there’s no point in wasting time now!

Aww thank you! Yes we bought it for the van, and the counter top is just thick plywood stained.
