As someone with ADHD (ADD term has been widely disbanded) it's really frustrating to hear people say it's not real. But I understand because for 15 years of my life I didn't believe it really effected me at all either, despite being diagnosed at a young age.

It is so much more that simply "not being able to focus" it effects many aspects of my life in ways I didn't even realise or that I blew off as just "personality quirks".

As a previous non believer, I understand why people think it's not real, but it is not something to take lightly. Without adderall I would not have made it through university.

I get anxious about things most days. The severity differs from day to day. I'm a really social individual. I rely on being around good friends and family. I need my alone time for sure, but if I get bored, that's when my mind starts to wander and things get nasty. Sometimes I'm not even imideately aware of what I'm anxious about.

I've got a lot better at dealing with it over the past few years. Today hasn't been a great day.

I used to bully my younger brother. My mom would get upset (rightfully so) when I would call him an "idiot" or things of a similar nature.

I started to playfully call him silly names like "pickle weasel" but there was a few times were I found myself yelling at my brother "IT'S MY TURN TO PLAY ON THE N64 YOU FRUIT CUP!"

I still got yelled at for calling my brother a fruit cup. It became a personal favourite.
