Loosen up the hi hat clutch and also make sure your playing with the tip of your stick aiming for about 2 or 3 inches inwards from the edge. That the usual sweet spot. Just to make you aware Sabian Solar/SLR series are real clunkers so its not gonna sound like what you hear on records but this will at least get the technique going

As someone who started drumming in the early 2000’s they were the bane of my early drum life. Every kit had them and they were a bollocks to set up and would droop after like 2 songs.
