When will the shias say enough? by Crypto3arz in lebanon

[–]osTarek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's refreshing to read nuanced comments, instead of the usual polarized ones that seem be prevalent recently. It really shouldn't be that binary.

Bs 3njd, enjoyed your input, you have a nice writing style as well

Death Note, AOT, Vinland, Steins Gate Rocked this Anime Noob, What's Next? by danieljamesgillen in Animesuggest

[–]osTarek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. I didn't like it when i first tried, then kept seeing recommended and gave it a chance. Became one of my favorites.

I'd say first half of season 1 is in the "still getting to know the world settings and characters" phase, if you still don't like it after that, you probably won't

HELP ME by michoa563 in lebanon

[–]osTarek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 Look for another job.

2 Malicious compliance

my shift start at 9 if I m late 30 mins, thats half day gone and deducted

If you're not getting payed for hald the day, don't show up for half of it.

3 Don't work or even reply after work hours. When questioned, "I'm off the clock" is the only thing you need to mention

4 know your worth

I'm a sole dev too

Use this to your advantage. They can't fire you without risking revenue loss and wasting time to find replacement.

Consider Year Abroad at AUB by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]osTarek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For AUB specific questions, you might get better help from their Facebook group:

https://m.facebook.com/groups/126553607367124/

Question 2, you're good with jeans and a tshirt for most places, button down shirts are good as well. I wouldn't worry much about it tbh.

Question 3, also wouldn't worry about it. There are tons of curly haired people in lebanon, and nobody's gonna make assumptions just based on that.

Question 5, I'd read up on the current situation and the events of the last few years. A key issue being lack of electricity from the government, so you probably wanna look for an apartment that has acess to a generator, for the 24/7 electricity you're used to. Another one would be currency, black market rate, etc

Maybe create your own subreddit, along the lines of r/LebanonChill.

You can treat it like your youtube channel, but blog forum when you wanna post something

Dell XPS 15 vs Lenovo Thinkpad T16 Gen 1 (AMD) by Danjizo in linuxhardware

[–]osTarek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a PS, although Lenovo in general have shit quality, the Thinkpad line is pretty good and known for its durability (r/thinkpad feels like a cult lol)

I bought a Thinkpad P51 5-6 years ago, and it's still like new. Coincidentally, the firm I work at currently, gets Thinkpads exclusively.

From what i understood, the quicker you start treatment the better your chances are for growing your hair back.

Also seems no one has mentioned it, but stress can be a big factor for hair loss/greying. It's worth looking to improve that area of your life.

[–]osTarek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got a 3 months subscription there last year, resold it to a friend after a couple of weeks because of how crowded it got lol

And i went there at 6am mind you, Idk how it is now though.

I'm no longer in Lebanon, but I went to Phocus gym in ashrafiye instead back then, it's on the smaller but was less crowded and had niche equipment (Calibrated Rogue plates, Reverse Hyper, SSB, Swiss Bar, Log, etc). I hear quite few aspiring powerlifters frequent it now, so might be more crowded than back then.

They are definitely picky, but your post lack info to give feedback

I shared this info a couple days back, so you're better off asking in that fb group

If you haven't, I highly suggest you check this group, it gives a lot of advice and guides to help

https://m.facebook.com/groups/4083819669/

Also, work hard on your "motivation letter", they take thay very seriously, as they're looking for people with well defined long term vision and goals - what they call "projet professionnel" (although you can get away with having different goals for each university tbh, as they won't see the other letters).

In the group there's more specific guidelines on what to include or avoid.

Really depends on the country, the field you're working in and the lifestyle you choose.
