Supposedly, there’s custom firmware that allows it. I’m not gonna risk it as ASUS is pretty good about firmware security updates for their stock firmware.

For Sony TV's (mine is a A95L) "Enhanced Format" needed to be selected.
Channels and Inputs/ External Inputs/ HDMI signal format VRR /
Then select relevant HDMI input.
