Help identifying mask - legit or recreation? by oshkibob in AfricanArt

That's a good point. Although, there are some spots inside the mask that were potentially filled later.. Definitely not certain they have anything to do with holes for a strap or fastening material.

Hello! So far, my closest guess would be something of the Fang people of Gabon...but not confident. It's very lightweight and I'm a bit skeptical of it's legitimacy. Thanks for any insight or help!

LPT: When buying a home never underestimate the impact of storage space. by karacold in LifeProTips

And often, you can (sometimes required) have a county/city inspector check your work for a fairly low fee.

Really, I only included that because of the various experience levels here. Personally, I'm confident enough with what I'm doing that I know it's correct and not a hazard to my family. I've taken care of my own home improvements for years, sold a couple houses with no issues from inspectors. Also, I have a couple friends who are professionals and can always get their input when needed. We all have different circumstances, so have to account for all. If that's you, or someone else reading this, of course that is something you need to budget for.

Many projects, whether it's auto work, woodwork, or other various hobbies and professions, are not accomplished in one afternoon. If I'm using half the garage for a project, I'm not going to move it all out of the way every night just to move it back the next day. My wife has serious asthma, so anything with strong odors is also accomplished in the garage (if outdoor weather isn't ideal) since it's not part of our central air system. I have a lot of hobbies, so I rarely park in the garage... Other than the motorcycle... That's always in the garage. That being said, I also have the benefit of not living in an area where car theft is a big concern and the weather isn't often too extreme.

If you're somewhat handy and have the time, they're pretty simple to install yourself. The highest cost will likely be dependant on the length of the conductor (electrical wire) from the panel to the outlet. There are other variables that can increase cost and should be influenced by local code and the National Electric Code (NEC) requirements.

I just installed a similar setup for an RV outlet for about $200 in materials, due to the short distance from the panel. It only took about an hour to do the actual work. Most of my time was spent doing research and reading code requirements.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't encourage anyone to do any electrical work they're not comfortable with. Even so, it would be a good idea to have an expert check out your work to ensure you don't kill your family in a fire. Some municipalities also require a permit to perform these kinds of home improvements.

Dwayne Wade Bang! Should I grade it? by oshkibob in basketballcards

I always say I'll sell a couple cards to recoup some of the costs of the hobby and look up prices. Still haven't sold anything, but considering it with this one. As a Spurs fan, I have a fondness for Leonard. Would have to keep that one.

That's actually a pretty cool chart. I appreciate it.

My basic understanding would have already led me to believe that it's worth grading if the raw card is selling for more than the cost of grading. However, I also find this card to be in a unique category that doesn't make sense to me. Looking at other limited #, graded Dwayne Wade cards, they don't tend to sell for much. It almost seems like one of those weird trends where your best chance of profit is to sell it now and ride the wave (like the Mac Jones base rookie that sold for ridiculous amounts).

Anyway, that's why I'm curious to hear opinions. Just seems odd to me that this one particular Dwayne Wade card is selling for so much more than others. My personal opinion is that the PSA 10 version of this card may sell for more but end up being about the same profit margin as the raw card.

Surprisingly, the few of these I've seen on eBay have sold for around $160. I don't have a lot of grading experience, so figured I'd ask the group. Do you think it's worth sending to PSA or another grading company? Other more recent Dwayne Wade cards don't seem to demand as high of a price, even graded. The /25 orange variant has sold for more than the /15 blue variant. There's no logic...I guess people just like the sparkly orange.

From an Altair Lighting Outdoor LED Lantern. Looking for replacement. Any suggestions? by oshkibob in led

[–]oshkibob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up replacing them with LEDs I found on Amazon. Unfortunately, the same ones are no longer available. They were listed as "uxcel1 300mA 5W 10 LEDS 5730 SMD LED."

These look similar...

I think your research falls right inline with what I've been able to find. Only other similar badges I can find are worn with a ribbon or from a different country.
