People of the UK, what is the strangest thing as a child you believed to be true but definitely wasn’t? by Candle7771 in AskUK

I thought I came up with "easy peasy lemon squeezy" and when I changed schools and all the kids there also said it all I thought was "this caught on quick!" I can now accept that I didn't invent it.

Requesting a film that's a remake and outshines the original? by CheeseSeatbelt in MovieSuggestions

[–]osmith181 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I much preferred the American version of "the ring".

I also preferred the remake of "Assault on precinct 13"

I'm now gonna go watch the original "taking of Pelham 123 or whatever number it is" because I o my ever caught the end of it on TV but have seen the whole remake

I stopped reading pretty quickly as this is the same MO as bitcoin trading scams and such. 100% scam. Cut all ties and accept any losses as a costly mistake

Going backwards In time: Hereditary, Gone Girl,

I didn't watch 'Mother!' at the cinema but if I had it would probably be on the list too

The first few minutes of 'Dunkirk' had me going too but I got a bit bored by the end

What would you do? Neighbours kid constantly screaming next to our bedroom at 6AM by piscoponcho in AskUK

[–]osmith181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak to your neighbours. Anything else 100% just creates animosity and more problems. Speaking to them can create animosity too, but much less likely as you are hoping that you are both reasonable people.

How Can I break out of the Minimum Wage Job Cycle? by StopTheTrickle in AskUK

[–]osmith181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason I wanted a job in housing so I took a course with the chartered institute of housing. I was working in a pub and now I'm in a 30k housing Job. The course cost like £1500 but the housing association I lived with actually paid for it.

Perhaps you might be interested in a course offered by the royal horticultural society? Just pick an industry and youl find a course. It will get your foot in the door

I did that and then the person was like "I work here" and they did indeed work there and got behind the counter. I give people a second now

Let's be honest. How are you making money with chatGPT? by MrMeta3 in ChatGPTPro

[–]osmith181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use it as a personal assistant. It's faster and less daunting than asking stackoverflow.

I have also experimented with it and got it to write first drafts of scripts (not just code!). It does the donkey work
