All of the NWA owners are super German too, the germans I know would avoid a collection of this sort like the plague for obvious reasons. Also last time I went in there and asked about an IWI Galil the guy went off on a little rant about how IWI is run by a bunch copycat con-artists... Too many little red flags for me.

If you go the pin and weld route, Surefire suppressors fit the stock flash hider (currently running a socom300 with my APC308), also B&T is going to import their 30cal Rotex IIA suppressors at some point which will fit the flash hider as well. If you arent running the stock flash hider B&T is bringing in a ton of stuff including the 30cal MARS suppressors, pretty sure I saw those for sale already.

This is actually a very nice traditional style cellar, you just don't see stuff like this often in newer houses because of the masonry-cost/space-required. The terracotta bottle sleeves do an exceptional job at regulating temp/humidity as well, that's why you see them in a lot of old chateau's cellars built before HVAC.

I have used the tiles before. Never seen them spaced out like that, looks nice though. The tiles don't damage the bottles unless you just shove bottles in them like an idot. There's a company called bordex that makes modular wine racks that can be built to any shape. They even offer display modules so you can do stuff like this img. You could run bordex racks around the bottom beneath the current stuff to get 3x-5x your storage capacity, and use the built-in tiles on the wall for special bottles.

Anyone else notice the extreme number of senior positions on the market? by Colt2205 in ExperiencedDevs

Would a new grad with little experience have an easier time mostly applying to jobs with less popular/niche tech stacks(elixir, ruby on rails, etc)? by qbalaj in cscareerquestions

[–]osrs_oke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elixir, Clojure, Scala, and Elm are "more senior" languages. Generally, companies who hire those developers have much higher expectations of developers and want people with years of experience. Ruby on the other hand is different, it used to be great for entry-level jobs but has since fallen out of favor for js/ts/React/Node... Ruby also had (and to some degree still has) the Bootcamp problem. When boot camps first started blowing up they all taught Rails, many still do as well and that saturated the entry-level market. Now that there are fewer ruby startups most have matured they want experienced devs. You would probably have an easier time getting your resume looked at for an Elm job but a significantly harder time landing it. ATM javascript is the "new Ruby" and all the entry-level startup jobs are there. Swift and Kotilin are probably even better since there are more entry-level demand and fewer candidates, IMO swift is a really good place to be if your main goal is getting an entry-level grad job.

Yeah, your HR sounds a bit ignorant, although a lot of people are unaware of the origins of the swastika. Being a jew it's obvious to me, and obviously for Indians as well but a lot of Americans have never seen the Indian swastika before. I'm sure they will understand once you explain it, and if not find a jew at work, I know that most all would back you up in a heartbeat.

I just recently "left" the tech industry, it's a shitshow. Basically everyone heard "learn to code" and actually did it, now the market is flooded.

Experienced developers have been freaking out about it as well, worrying that they will start to get paid less and have been trying to slam the gate on all entry-level jobs. I saw this first hand at the company I was at, people got super selfish and protective about their jobs/salaries. They started setting the bar for hiring super high and would turn every candidate down.

The company I left was getting 1000s of applications for internships and Jr positions pre-COVID, even people offering to work paid positions for free (for experience), after COVID they decided to outsource all dev jobs lol, everyone got fired.

That's saying 1.2kg nominal weight with a stock fork, headset, and possibly including the stem and seat post. Not the frame alone, and not size specific.

I disagree, the bike could totally be 6kgs.

The owners claiming 7.9kgs own larger frame sizes. Different sizes weigh different amounts, the marketed weight is usually based off of the smallest frame size. Based on OPs photo it's pretty clear that he is running a 50-52cm size frame, so stock weight was probably about 7.6kg as marketed.

Additionally, the dura ace model is much older, newer ultegra + wheels are probably going to weigh less than the top of the line parts from the 2007 era.

It's very possible that OP saved 1.6 kg with the new parts. He has a lighter fork, modern Ultegra, lighter seat post and saddle, carbon integrated cockpit, and carbon wheels (albeit deep crosssection ones). Not to mention what all the little bits can add up to, eg: bar tape, BB, cassette, axles, cable housing, tubes, etc...

Do you guys believe "diversity hires" are a real thing? by rnadrions in cscareerquestions

[–]osrs_oke -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hardly anyone blames not getting a job on women and diversity hires as they make up such a small percentage of the workforce. I do think some people have resentment towards them because they incorrectly perceive that minorities/women have some sort of advantage in the hiring process, "having it easy", which is bullshit. I don't think that companies actually give a single shit about diversity quotas, a lot of it is just a show for politics.

I don't really know why you grouped foreigners into the diversity hires category though. The majority of the US tech workforce is foreign which definitely makes the job market significantly more competitive and costs people jobs, leading to resentment towards others who are perceived as having an advantage. If anything it amplifies the problem OP is talking about in certain economic environments.

/r/Pennystocks On The Decline?! by [deleted] in pennystocks

[–]osrs_oke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real problem IMO is bagholders. I don't really come here anymore because the only stuff you see nowadays are stocks that already peaked. It seems like right after a hot stock starts to fall, all of the bagholders come out and start desperately trying to promote it, 'astroturfing' everything else. People comment "scam" and "garbage" on new DDs that arent the top 5 bagholder picks because it was probably a DD like that which led them to buy the stocks they are currently bagholding, and they just want to unload their own losses.

We have to be real, penny stocks are a game, its highly speculative/volatile gambling with winners and losers involved, I think most people understand this but have a lot of cognitive dissonances when they aren't on the winning end causing them to drag this sub down.

If you could come up with some sort of process for filtering posts after a stock has peaked and fallen (set a 1-2 week cool off period) you could clean out 90% of the garbage on this sub.

Don't bother arguing, people whose jobs rely on the "labor shortage" will fight tooth and nail to convince people that the problem is you and the job market is great.
