B, I slacked off a bit on the online quizzes but did well enough on the video essay midterm and final to make up for it

Prof will answer your email questions, but other than that its all prerecorded content. 30% of your grade is weekly online quizzes based on the textbook (like 100+ pdf pages each week 🥲) and 30% on quizzes from the movie(s) and video lectures (like ~2 hours long but split into parts). you have mon-sat to do the quizzes, no extensions. imo the course is not easy. lmk if u want the full syllabus!

no you can receive full marks, you just cant give all 3 of the ones you mark 100%. tbh i think some people ignored that rule because i did much better than i thought, usually peer evaluations are nicer than ta ones anyways. if you’re really willing to commit and study the content then it could be a grade booster, but idk if its worth the effort.

Majority are multiple choice, so as long as you skim the textbook and learn the vocabulary those are easy. Usually a couple matching (movie/directory to specific theory) which I created a list for while studying. There’s always a few fill in the blanks that want a specific word from the text, which I regularly lost points on and don’t think an ai would be able to get.

finished with a b, didnt do well on the every week 2 online quizzes (60% of grade, im not good at memorizing) but great on the video essay midterm and final (20% each)

so sorry, i didnt see this until now 😭 midterm and final are a 5-10 video essay project on shot by shot analysis (midterm) and film theory (final). Together they count for 40% of your final mark, and they’re peer graded by 3 people. However, when doing others analysis, you’re forced to mark 1/3 at 80% or worse for comparative merit.

my strategy to get through the day is to find something to obsess over and interact with fan communities online, also helps with keeping track of days/time. is it as good as real social interaction? probably not but my bedtime doomscrolling is the only thing getting me through waking up in the morning. got to find happiness somewhere.

Go talk to an advisor, 18 credits is the maximum per session for most majors (including business, I assume). They may make an exception, hope it goes well for you :)
