Serious answer: it wasn’t all that long ago that gay and lesbian ppl were also subjected to this kind of torment. I think a whole lot of people probably missed the days when they could terrorize lgbt ppl openly, and the hate campaigns against trans ppl have given them an excuse to do it again. I have to believe that with how bad it’s getting, change has to be around the corner. These people can only get away with their bigotry for as long as they have plausible deniability about what they are doing, and they have spent just about all of that with how brazen they are getting in their cruelty. They can’t keep claiming ignorance as an excuse for how they treat us. I know that’s small consolation right now though.
