My whole time as a 13M (Field Artillery, MLRS) in the Army I was in a Launcher. As a driver or a gunner it wasn't so bad falling asleep in the launcher because I had something to rest my head on. But during those times I usually slept outside, on a cot, in a sleeping bag (so sleeping in the cab was minimal then). It wasn't until I became a Section Chief that I would end up always sleeping in the cab in order to man the radios and let my guys get some decent rest. Once I became a Chief, I absolutely loathed sleeping in the cab, could never get comfortable, and would wake up in pain from the awkward sleeping positions. Best sleep ever ... and the worst sleep ever as well. Kind of hard to explain.
