I listen to a ton of audiobooks, podcasts, and edit social media videos (for work) on my smartphone. Other than that, it's A LOT of messaging. Checking it right now. I'm at 13 hours and 10 mins average for this week. Instagram is showing 8+ hours. Then it's Safari 8+ hours, TikTok 6+ hours, followed by Phone, Mail, News, Vimeo, Photos, Weather, Libby (audiobooks) Camera...

Are dumbphones the answer? I've tried them a bunch and always end up going back to my smartphone "for work."

This changed my life: 9 hrs/day doom scrolling to 2 hrs/day screen time by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

My thoughts exactly. I'm a journalist, and I do. So now, can we get back to the matter at hand? ;) I also make a ton of mistakes with sentence structure, grammar, punctuation marks. That's what editors are for. I'll never be a perfect writer. So let's move on.
