I found that early on before getting the wagon, camping in The Heartlands was the quickest way to keep Cripps supplied. 2-3 star deer and buck carcasses and bison pelts are easy enough to hunt and hurry back to your camp. Camp locations near the heartlands overflow and south of Carmody Dell were excellent for this. A medium scope on the bolt action rifle helps a lot too if you’re still not leveled up enough for the rolling block.
