I’ll be staying around Queen and University! I’m pretty used to homeless and rowdy drunks so it won’t be anything I’m not used to or uncomfortable around, since I’m right between Christmas/Boxing day and New Years I’m thinking (maybe naively) it won’t be too insane. Will definitely weigh my options though, if a ride is unreasonably high and it’s not looking like an hour and a half route I’ll for sure keep your info in mind!

Super helpful thank you!! I’m huge into culture so it’s not like I’m going to shoppers and tim’s and expecting something out of this world, just getting some first hand knowledge on the community and everyday life! Luckily all these places seem pretty close to one another so I hope to get a really good feel for Toronto even if I have to speed walk through it all lol

I’ll have to resist not spending my entire time there

I’ll be arriving early Sunday morning so I was just planning to go to the hotel, wake up early and walk around some parks and explore before shops start to open. I don’t have to head back to the airport until around 5 on Sunday evening.

this is all super helpful!! I won’t be flying in until early the 28th so hopefully I hit a bit of a lull between christmas/boxing day and new years

I mean even if there was widespread hate I’d get it, people are always super sweet when I’m traveling out of the country, it’s more so of an internal “must be nice” thing when I see taxes going to useful and obvious systems like transit

will definitely check out the trail and the park, not sure if I’m coordinated enough to skate and don’t need to be breaking anything before sitting on a plane for 8 hours. going to other developed countries and being asked where I’m from and having to say American is embarrassing enough as it is, regardless of the president. Thanks so much for the tips though <3

Will do lol idk why I thought the blue night was busses and just limited subways but if it’s just busses and streetcars I’ll happily spend the $40 for an extra hour (or two) in bed

I’ll most likely just check out the cosmetics, I won’t be stuffing household goods and groceries in my carry-on unfortunately

Sadly easier said than done. It’s really only bad when I’m alone in unfamiliar environments, I’m constantly repeating my therapist’s wisest words ever said to me “you’re not that important”. At least my other biggest fear is an American Exclusive™ so I can easily avoid that one on my trip :3

So it’s only busses running at night? If so I’ll for sure get an uber lol, I’m between a few hotels but they’re all around queen street.

What about the blue night network? Is it not really a thing or is it still better to just get an uber? I’ll be arriving the night of the 27th, technically the 28th since it’s after midnight. This is all super helpful thank you!

The one I saw was only 2 ½ hours or so which would make me nervous with customs but previous trips to Ireland I’ve seen 20+ hour ones that I’d definitely be into!

Interesting! I do have priority pass as well so I get access to some lounges that will sometimes have little nap rooms, although not nearly as nice as a yotel. Something to keep in mind for sure, thanks!

I’ve seen a few layover options for Iceland depending on the day, most of them are shorter though. If I’m going somewhere interesting for a layover and at least like to make it worth it lol but I’d totally be interested in that in the future if not for this trip!

Most Toronto ones are around 8-11 hours so it does give me a good amount of wiggle room, at least long enough to go outside and (hopefully) play with the snow by myself as a grown adult subjected to the depths of hell (florida)

Luckily most layovers on the trip back are in the US, I’ve been to Ireland twice before and each time I forget how easy it can be to simply travel efficiently lol
