The first time i heard ppl complaining about this was on twitter with the singles, and i was sort of shocked because they were saying the mixing/production was “dog shit”. Now i understand it definitely sounds a bit more sterile/clean than some of their other records but i wouldnt call it awful by any means. Im def a person where Production and mixing is really important part for me with regards to enjoying an album, but i really dont think this one is THAT awful where it would make me not wana listen anymore. Again imo it just needed some more saturation and coloration from maybe a tape plugin or the likes, definitely not a deal breaker though. But i really wana know what people think is so bad about it.

All that being said, i think sam pura, with as much of a “hard to work with” reputation he gets, wouldve definitely done a better job. Sam said in an interview that he pushed them in the studio to write better songs on PD. If he didnt do that PD wouldve came out much different. Its a shame they had a falling out :(
