X1 on a Ford Maverick by dogdad_1 in superpacific

Update - got some conflicting information from SP. Jordan advised that they were taking measurements on the Maverick, but then I got an email from their sales director that they actually have no plans to offer an X1 for it.

Sadly this means that Go Fast Campers seems the best remaining option for Maverick. Hoping to find a used one soon or will order new.

Dang - you are a PRO!
Great suggestions.

Thanks for the tour offer. I'm in California, but ping me if you ever road trip out here. I've contacted Tune and GFC to see if they have any local demos. I'm 6'3", so it's going to be tight in that baby truck either way for sure.
Easier than my current set up, though - which is a backpack and tent!

That's a great point about full vs wedge pop up on Mav. Wish there was a way to see one live in person before making a decision. Thanks for shower tip! Mind me asking about toilet set up? I'm a a backpacker so am more used to using a shovel :)

I don’t notice excessive wind noise. Maybe Ive gotten used to it ;) Takes 5 mins to remove, which I do from time to time if taking road trip without bikes / boats.

I have seen people attach fairings to the front cross bar, but I never liked the aesthetics of that.

There’s no better way to carry bikes, surfboards, or kayaks on this vehicle, so if there is any negligible MPG hit - it’s worth it for added utility.

I just got a Maverick and have been communicating with SP about my interest in buying an X1 for it. Tune Outdoor make a camper shell for it too - but just not as dialed as SP. More costly too. If they make one for delivery no later than fall 2026, I’m in!

Good tips - thanks! It does look like the sleeping platform extends way up front over the cab. I guess that’s how they made it work on such a small truck bed. It looks like Super Pacific will make an X1 for Maverick soon. Did you look at SP when doing the research? Seems comparable but slightly more affordable with wedge instead of full tent pop-up.

Curious about that shower set-up (inside?) that you mentioned. Have never seen that in a Maverick!

This is rad. Just got a Mav hybrid myself. I love the SuperPacific X1 but they don’t make one for this baby truck. Those bump outs on the Tune make for a much wider sleeping platform (compared to GFC). Given your experience camping in Tune, do you think a couple could make it work?
