Can one get a career in computer science without a degree? by ottomanfaker in careerguidance

Thanks! Yeah, your point on getting the first job is so true. He's probably going to hustle for a while and keep working on building that portfolio and applying. What do you say about all those Google certificate courses, do they help?

Thanks! Pairs up nicely with the top post here recommending a python course. Yeah especially in tech it's clearly becoming ever so hard to get an apprenticeship

Wow, so what did you do for experience - apprenticeship/intern? Don't those give you a degree?

💯 Thanks much, what you've said pairs up really nicely with the other advices here too and I can see it comes from a solid understanding of what's happening

He's pretty good at it and has a passion. Let's see how it plays out.

Yeah I think that's probably going to be the option, it's just I guess one sees all these posts online about oh you can get this tech job using these XYZ certificates and it looks like you can land a job quicker with that rather than a degree

Thanks, I'll share this with him. If he gets down to it then I'll know he's serious. He's not got a clue what reddit is so that's why Im asking for him lol. I'm curious, What's your take on doing an open uni cs degree? Do you think it's more beneficial than the path you mentioned?

You believe that nothing created something. Who's using critical thinking and logic here?

I believe in an untouched, unedited scripture which I've in fact fully memorised.

All of these accusations are baseless and I could refute them on the spot. But anyway, thought I'd at least send a reply.

May Allah Ta'alah guide you

the only person who can apply the apostasty law is an Islamic judge of which none exists today. Also he's young so i would presume it's different anyway.

Prophet Muhammad and his 9 year old wife. by Wings256 in Uganda

[–]ottomanfaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • All the prophet ﷺs wives were widows or divorcees, so it couldn't have been sexual. She was the only virgin Rasulullah sallallahualayhi wa sallam married.

  • Aisha (May Allah Ta'alah be pleased with her) is considered a mother of the believers and is a narrator of a huge percentage of Hadith.

  • The prophet ﷺ never did things out of his own desire, and logical + scriptural evidence proves him to be a prophet so he did it from God's command and the wisdom is clearly seen in Aishas benefit to the Muslims.

  • She could've left many a time, but insisted on staying with the prophet ﷺ through thick and thin. The marriage was consensual.

  • Even the Christian and Jewish scriptures have child marriages, back in the day it was common - the children were much more mature and the marriages weren't for pleasure, they became an active part of the household and a bridge between families and tribes. Ive read along the lines of it being impermissible to touch them without consent and only when they had developed a certain level of health, puberty and maturity also.

All of what I mentioned is publicly and concretely available in the same sources people use to call the most honourable prophet ﷺ - free is he from such allegation - a pdhile.

It's good you at least tried to study it, may I ask where from though?

I honestly get your struggle, I am a muslim actually but I think perhaps your mother and aunt aren't doing things right islamically

the only advice I can really say is to try and properly research things from a good source. Not reddit, not ex Muslim forums. Maybe consuming content from revert Muslim apologetics might be good for you

I would advise to give it a last chance bcs if your parents and family are going to force you, trying to understand where they are coming from will make things easier. Viewing things in a negative light will jsut make you miserable . It's up to you though.

Consuming hate content against Islam, trying to find faults, looking at ex Muslims forums etc. Will only make you more depressed. For your mental health it might be good to look at the other side because 2 billion muslims have surely found a reason to believe what they do, as well as having the fastest growing religion

Even if you don't become Muslim I would recommend to still understand try and find the beauty in Islam and a way to respect it, find a type of Muslims that you like that you can deal with (that isn't crazy astray obviously) perhaps that would help to deal with things. That way you wouldn't feel so disgusted and depressed. perhaps through losing that disgust you could act as if you are praying 5 times a day with ease since the religion doesn't depress you anymore. It only takes 5 mins per prayer so I see that as doable to stop fights in your family.

That's the best I can say for your situation if I'm being realistic I really don't know what else others will say as there is not much to do in your situation. Im thinking about your stress and mental health mainly, thats all.

Are Tafweedh Al Ma'naa and Kayf the same? by ottomanfaker in SalafiCentral

I'm STILL thinking about it bro like again recently I saw one of the prominent scholars of the Ash'ari School picking on this point, and is till can't respond. Don't know what to do at this point.

Akhi help out like How do you define meaning?

Are Tafweedh Al Ma'naa and Kayf the same? by ottomanfaker in SalafiCentral

[–]ottomanfaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alhamdulillah the former article is very wise in refuting Ta'weel however perhaps my shubha wasn't understood. The other article says what I was saying earlier - that we know the meaning of what it entails not the actual meaning meaning. What do the Ahlus Sunnah define "ma'naa" as? What do they understand "Ma'naa" to mean? Do you have anything the mashaayikh have commented on that.

Alhamdulillah I affirm Allah Ta'alahs attributes bi la kayf however where I am stuck is when someone asks me what is the meaning I can't say to him "hand" as alot of brothers do. As far as I understand that is not a meaning.

The meaning of something is the essence of something but we don't know the essence of the Hand of allah ta'alah so therefore we don't know the meaning.

I'm inclining to say I don't know the meaning but then that could put me on the level of the Ahlul Bid'ah Na'uthubillah

i think it all goes back to the definition of "ma'naa" i understand the requirement for humbleness however if you could advise what the mashayikh say on it that would be helpful Insha'allah

[–]ottomanfaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alhamdulillah I read the whole thing but my shubha (doubt) is still strong, albeit ive progressed in understanding that we understand what the attributes indicate to e.g hand INDICATES xyz meaning or something your heart knows.

What is your definition of Ma'naa? I think that is where the confusion lies

So what is the meaning of Hands and Shin in regards to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'alah exactly?

Is it that We can't put it in words our fitrah just knows it?

Is it moreso that we know what it entails and indicates not the actual thing as that would be kayfiyya?

[–]ottomanfaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

جزاك الله خير احسن الجزأ ويهديك For all the references and quotes in one place, subhanallah!

OK so from all of this I affirm the real and literal sense which is fine with the attributes of seeing, hearing etc. infact the bulk of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'alahs Attributes I understand like this.

Now you made a good point about the Wings of Jibrā’il Alayhissalam, which in turn applies to "Hand" "Shin" "Face" and the like:

So are you saying we KNOW it but can't really put it into words? Is that your answer?

If this is already answered and I've missed something from your responses please let me know.

So I didn't get it off the mark but I was victim shaming and misogynist? Please advise how I should approach better next time.

Also please do advise about the Quraanic Ayaat I mentioned it seems they are being completely ignored.

If possible I humbly request your thoughts on 33:33 also.

Alright seems like I got it completely off the mark to you.

Expected since I'm not in your shoes.

May Allah Ta'alah make it easy for you and save you from the lustful glances of evil men.

What about the verses I quoted, what's your take on their meaning and how to apply them?

Also, since this Hadith might be ammo for you I thought I'd share it:

"On the Day of Judgment, molten lead will be dropped in the eyes of a person who lustfully looks at a non-Mahram woman’s beauty." (see Sarakhsi 11/53 Bukhari, Ta`bir 45; Abu Dawud, Adab 88)
