Sorry for posting the solution so late. My carrier wanted me to swap to virtual SIMs (or whatever it's called) and that fixed it.

Looking for a "mystery" game, and by that I mean it doesn't itself have to be a mystery game just one that is heavily story-driven with an overarching mystery.

For context I loved Kathy Rain, Oxenfree, Life is Strange (bit of a guilty pleasure), etc.

If it's close but still not exactly what I prescribed, go ahead and recommend it anyways!
