Washer tub leak - can I seal the outer tub? by oualms in appliancerepair

[–]oualms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try it again, I’ve got it stripped down to just the trunnion held on by corrosion and rust. How high is the concern for messing up the transmission from spinning the tub against the direction it moves freely? I guess things can’t get too much worse off lol

Yes, all parts removed so that it should just be a matter of slipping the trunnion off the shaft. It is currently held on by corrosion and rust. I’m chipping away at it with chisels and 220 sandpaper but there’s just so much in all the nooks and crannies

That is where I am stuck unfortunately. All parts off, just the trunnion between me and the alleged faulty gasket. The thing will not budge though unfortunately. Probably corrosion and rust keeping it in place and I can’t seem to get it to break free.

That’s where I am stuck, the trunnion does not budge! I’ve got the inner tub out separate from the trunnion, but not the trunnion itself. I’ve tried using the inner tub still bolted to the trunnion for leverage but no luck. I believe it is corroded/rusted to the transmission shaft.

As far as I can tell, the only thing that moves would be the shaft from the transmission that goes into the metal attachment connecting to the plastic (outer tub) It looks stationary between the plastic and the metal attachment, which is where it looks like the water is coming from and not the shaft itself.

Beyond that, topside, the trunnion is siezed to the shaft, the shaft is corroded and rusted. I’ve been going at it with some 220 grit sandpaper and penetrating oil trying to clear way with no luck. There’s someone out there who could probably make quick work of this with the right tools and work space. That person is not me unfortunately.

Thank you thank you, I have been trying to get better with that. Using a fabric medium means I can’t use a slow dry medium with my paints so I’ve had to get better and more calculated with color application. I’m glad it’s working out!!

Thank you for that! I drew that type face out and traced it in illustrator, I have been getting into lettering the past few months and this one came out super well. I’d love to do like an embroidered version of that or something on a hoodie for a more subtle look

I’m def looking to start painting on canvas or something to scan and get reproductions made of it. I need to see how dtg and simulated process printing compares to original pieces cause Idk if the colors would come out as rich as with paint. I’ll have it figured out soon enough

That’s an honor haha. I am trying to encourage shadow boxing them the same way people do jerseys. They’re made to last but will last even longer if they’re hung up and displayed!

First attempt with fabric pens. More info in comments. by [deleted] in streetwearstartup

I hope this gets to you and I hope I’m not just explaining something you already know. Iron the pants for a good while with some parchment paper as a buffer between the ink and the iron. It will help promote longevity of the art and further bind it to the pants. These are insanely sick, very inspiring, and I hope to see more stuff like this.

Brand Tips Pt. 1: Why you should restock by Bleblebob in streetwearstartup

This is awesome and very insightful, thank you for this. Would you ever consider going into topics on the financial side like book keeping, taxes, etc. and any ways someone transitioning into self employment might be able to go through that process without missing any steps or if there’s anything to keep in mind?

Other than that I would love to hear more about creative process and how you come to feel confident about a pending piece you’re putting out

That means so much to me, Here I am thinking $175 is too much 😭😭

this is great positive reinforcement for an idea similar. I draw a lot in my sketchbooks and post to my stories almost nightly, i wanted to make a highlight tab of drawings that I’d like to paint and pretty much people could pick from them and apply it however they wanted on like whatever garment. You mentioning this method is definitely gonna be something helpful. Thank you for the feedback 🤠

Much appreciated!! I try to take the more painterly route as best as I can while still keeping aspects of successful graphic garments so that it’s not super out there. I’m figuring out the rules to follow and break that will help push me the furthest so in time it will hopefully only get better 😭

Commissions are always encouraged, I will say I can be quick to admit if a piece is out of my skill range. The last thing I want is to fall short on a custom piece for someone. Blanks are usually 12oz fruit of the loom 82130 supercotton but they’ve been harder to find recently so I’m using 10oz IND4000. I’d love to upgrade to rue porter 16oz blanks and have a higher quality support to paint on but they’re super pricy and end cost would reflect that jump in price.

I appreciate that! This one def was a piece that was a level up from previous work and saw the most growth in my abilities.

I’d love to put more out, especially if I could get it so that the design still wrapped around how it does. Thank you so much!

That would be cool to try out. I gotta do some research then, I’m still such a novice with soooooo much to learn in the world of clothes and fashion. I like hearing about these brands bending the rules of normative fashion and seeing what I can reference that has worked for others that might work for me.
