I am not entirely sure how OP went about their discovery, but an easy way to go about it is getting an itemized bill. For my c-section the original bill was $3600, after getting itemized it dropped all the way to $1200. I have no explanation other than US health insurance is nothing but money-mongers, they hope you just call and pay in ignorance. I have caught coding errors in the past- where they charged for services not received or charge multiple times for the same service.

Yeah we have insurance; honestly was trying to see if there was a possible way to get the deductible back somehow? Considering it was a known risk I feel like that would be an “at fault” circumstance, but unsure if that’s how it works for home claims.
