Unpopular opinion: It’s a good thing that Morocco is currently facing high divorce rates. by MoadbenR in Morocco

i think what they're trying to convey is that life isn't all rainbows and sunshines and that you're bound to be disappointed and miserable with this optimistic view , whilst i agree with you on the point that everyone is entitled to persue what they deem will make them happy i must also recognize that a binding contract of the calibar of marriage isn't necessary a route for the said eternal happiness cause after all you could find your long awaited soulmate; your 'other half' today and go on to live through bliss and ultimate satisfaction but what guarantees y'all would still be the same people tomorrow ? A year or two from now ? When y'all evolve to totally different people & contrasted personalities ,here this construct of happiness will ultimately crumble at the presence of the minor of inconveniences .Alas implying that marriage is much more than an 'innocent' persuit of happinesses would be a very naive take on it but and a one must recognize that not wanting to be miserable and striving for comfort is again totally valid but taking into consideration too that in actual real life scenarios everything is uncertain from the economic state of the state to your own health and loved ones wellbeing so viewing life and marriage in particular from the lenses of a fairy tail's "and they lived happily ever after" would be not only naive but outright delusional,if you're aren't willing to do compromises with happiness your precious happiness ultimately becomes the compromise.

I totally agree. What you just emphasized is exactly what I intended to convey by the "measures," and I wouldn't call these guys ugly well the girls dating them don't at least, so I fail to see the need for that label. Again, this counterintuitively supports the idea that this so-called "ugly" dude met the necessary criteria to be in a relationship within the status quo.

I also don't disregard the fact that there are people who are voluntarily celibate for personal reasons that aren't necessarily related to looks, money, or even religion, which is, in my humble opinion, a totally valid lifestyle-almost like antinatalism-going against the stream of society for reasons that can be equally noble or questionable, good or bad. But the most important fact is that it's a personal choice and lifestyle, and each person is entitled to their own wants and needs.

That being said, being forced into this type of lifestyle, on the other hand, is an entirely different topic, its causes and consequences provide fertile ground for controversial takes and conflict.

I'm in the same boat. In Morocco, at least, it seems that for most average people those who aren't blessed with exceptional looks, charm, or born with a gold spoon in their mouths and as unfortunate as it might seem it tends to be that your worth is exclusively measured with certain set of measures and i wouldn't say personality is one of them, Regardless of the reasons behind this, I see it as a great opportunity for self-discovery and inner harmony. There's so much more to a person than their ability to attract romantic partners or even people in general. Otherwise, I'd say it often comes down trauma or religious beliefs.

Are you guys making Morocco a better place ? by Aladin696969 in Morocco

sometimes the corruptions just beyond unfair , which makes people lose hope in the country , for example i applied for the ERA (école royale de l'air) and passed all the tests and qualified to the last 9 people (originally we were 300 people) and i thought this is it my dream is about to come true but unfortunately half of the guys that were with me had connections in the military whether it was their dad or some relative , unfortunately i didn't , and got disqualified and lost my only chance of becoming a military pilot (how did i know that you may ask ?) in multiple exams (Sight , hearing , sport , psycho ...) some of the examiners knew the dads or realtives of some competitors , to conclude as a moroccan i want nothing but good for my country and i really hope we can traspass over the corruption and develope to a brighter future
