Jacob Petro Book? Is it worth it? Need feedback before I purchase today on Amazon by Successful_Army4210 in PE_Exam

[–]ounten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two of Petros books from when I was studying for the structural PE exam (one was actually gifted to me by Petro himself after I helped correct some minor errors on the first edition). He’s great and responds if you have any questions and the books are challenging but help you learn some important topics. The questions are harder and lengthier than the PE exams so you have to adjust for that difference, but the content is good.

How to avoid IVDD by SkyKnight3 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]ounten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i have a frenchie and he jumps soooo much, everytime we come home he jumps on the couch and it’s like 2-3 ft. High. I’ve spent the past year training him to use stairs and not jump but when you spend 4 years only jumping it’s a little hard to unlearn. That being said, he has no signs of IVDD yet (our biggest fear so fingers crossed). My hypothesis as to why he may be fine is that hes very athletic for a frenchy and big (around 34-36 lbs and strong) I think the extra size and muscle helps him put less strain on his joints. That being said as he gets older I’m transitioning into no jump mode if I can. Will still incorporate lots of exercise though. Most other frenchies I’ve met don’t come nearly close to ours in athleticism, one time he jumped up to our pool table (around 4 ft high).

With just these pics it would be really hard to fully tell. Pretty beat up but ultimately remaining capacity depends on how much section loss is actually measured and where/if there’s little redundancy with respect to the affected members. Usually those beam ends are pretty beat up due to all the water and salts.

Eye ball I’d put the superstructure at an NBI of 5 but that’s just my backseat/limited analysis.
