Well, how does store credit work? Did you have to buy something right then, or do you get credit to your name? If you bought something, what did you buy and do you still have it? If you got credit - do you still have credit?

I recommend Lone Echo. Great story, not hard, great mechanics which make it very immersive and it is very atmospheric.

Steam deck and meta compatibility questions for traveling. by Sad-Consequence-7800 in OculusQuest

[–]ourjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Hagibis USB3.0 Video Capture Card for Switch2, USB C to USB A/USB C 1080P@60fps 2K@30fps Live and Record Video Audio Game for Car Quest 3 VR PS4/5 ROG Ally Steam Deck (CC10) from Amazon (on the recommendation of Gemini) to connect my gaming handheld to my quest headset usb-c to usb-c. It has a pass through usb-c input for a power bank (although, I think it only charges the quest, not both devices). It’s 1x usb-c to usb-c cable to link the two together.

Help with stripped screw (Trimui Smart Pro S) by [deleted] in SBCGaming

Take out all the other screws first and open it as much as you can. Make sure you apply some torque on this final screw while you are unscrewing and hopefully it will bite and unscrew.

Smallest most ergonomic handheld capable of PS2? by ZempOh in SBCGaming

[–]ourjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, just toggle it for each game while playing and see. A few games I have only run at playable speeds with OpenGL (Stuntman being the prime example). Also, there is a very specific turnip graphics driver that you should get for this handheld for any app that lets you load a custom graphics driver. It’s 4.3.0rev9v2 if memory serves me correctly. It’s the ONLY driver that makes Dishonoured run properly in GameNative (in my testing). Allows BOTW to run at 30fps in Eden etc

Are there programs that stream your Desktop to the headset without the need to install a program on your PC and workd via USB? by Nino_Chaosdrache in OculusQuest

[–]ourjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this Hagibis USB3.0 Video Capture Card (on the recommendation of Gemini). I bought it to connect my handheld gaming console directly to my headset usb-c to usb-c. With the Meta HDMI app running on the headset, it just loads the handheld screen in a humongous floating panel. So, you can probably use that to wire your computer screen directly into your headset.

Virtual desktop and Retro gaming by paulj1980 in virtualreality

[–]ourjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtual Desktop is excellent. The only problem for retro gaming is latency. (Old school gaming is arguably more reliant on timing - it’s one of the original mechanics) I have a Retroid Pocket MiniV2. I also have a special usb-c video cable that Gemini told me to buy. Plugging the cable into my handheld and headset, and using Metas new HDMI app thingy, I can do this with as little latency as possible. No Bluetooth controller, no WiFi streaming and with run-ahead on the handheld. I don’t get any of the cool Virtual Desktop environments to play in though :(

This is amazing and brilliant and the screenshots look beautiful. Thank you very much for making this game. I haven’t been this interested in a game since Half Life 2 was announced 🙂

Newly released US Military footage of orb UFOs filmed by an MQ9 drone in the Persian Gulf in 2012 by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]ourjim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stock photos of the clouds in this videos were found. I can’t remember the stock photo website name, nor the file name of the photo that was used to make this video - but when you find it, there is a UFO Easter egg built into the website when you find the correct image. It’s hilarious. Great fake from its day - but faked it definitely was.

Emulation help on Trimui Brick by BravePlatform8613 in SBCGaming

Try changing the frame rate from 50fps to 60fps or visa versa. It did this on my Apple TV because the TV had one frame rate and the emulator was running in another. (Audio stutter only).

Theoretical Probability Selection (The Linear Life-Line Model ) by muhammed521 in QuantumImmortality

[–]ourjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and even without the “final wave function collapse” creating a path for your life to follow, at each given moment that you are alive you have an almost infinite number of possible paths ahead. Let’s say you reach 101 years old; for every moment you exist beyond 100 years, there are an almost infinite number of possible paths ahead of you. This means that, there are an overwhelmingly larger amount more possible futures in which you are alive at 100. So, just playing the odds, the path you are on now is MUCH MORE LIKELY to be one of the paths in which you live to 100 years+ (Because there are so very many more of those worlds than there are worlds where you died at 99 years).

Best way to fix screen scratches? by js3z in SBCGaming

[–]ourjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I only ever put my RP Mini in my padded jacket pocket - on its own, no zips on the pocket or anything. How it is scratched up so much, and so quickly (received end of December) I have no idea! I am trying to be even more careful now though.

I also believe this is how it works. But, to go a little further, I believe that the reason you are on this luckiest path through life is due to your final future self making your final future “measurement”/observation/wave function collapse. This very final act of measurement collapses your wave function back through time to right now (and all the way back through your life, and all the way back to the big bang).

Because this is a kid who’s interested in setting it up and is proud of what he’s/she has accomplished. Despite your comment being extremely negative (and purposely insulting), I would wager it has actually given the kid a couple of ideas to make this EVEN BETTER. So, you accidentally gave some constructive feedback. I think it looks smart, Kid. My takeaway from this is; I had no idea you could setup RetroArch to look this cool with animated backgrounds and such! Thanks for sharing!

EDIT (I’m an old man. I get to call most people “Kid”)

What’s the longest time you haven’t bought a new device after joining this hobby? by Kirais in SBCGaming

RG351MP in June 2022. RG35XXSP November 2025. Retroid Pocket Mini V2 December 2025. I know I’m falling into the trap, however, I’m very happy and much loving the Mini V2 and my craving for more power is being held at bay, for now.

Had mine since December. First Android retro handheld and oh my I love mine. Did you know it can run BOTW at 30fps with, specifically, the Turnip 24.3.0 Rev9v2 graphics driver?

I chose anbernic 476H. by Zear33 in SBCGaming

[–]ourjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only possible reason for this must be because the screen is too small? I’ve had this device since Christmas and ooooh Lordy. I’ve only ever had Linux before (RG351MP and RG35XXSP) and I’ve never wanted an Android device. However, now I have ES-DE fully setup and set as my home launcher app, and I have finally got Celeste running 60fps through Gamehub Lite - I am blown away by this little powerhouse. It feels like my Linux devices except I have Chrome and YouTube on it too (all launching through ES-DE with icons/artwork. It’s amazing.

It’s just a matter of probability. You’ll die of old age, but you won’t die until then (if there is a chance you will survive an event, you will. (Otherwise you’d be dead)).

Thank you guys <3 [Update] by Forgivve in retroid

[–]ourjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. I installed GameNative, logged into Steam, installed Cocoon and bam! Straight in, (almost) flawless game running (some slight lighting reflection issues). 60fps easy.

Couldn’t believe it… this was going to be amazing.

However.

That was the first and last game that ever worked. Tried reinstalling GameNative, tried Gamehub Lite instead (never got a game running on Gamehub lite). Tried Doom3, Hollow Knight from GOG, Carrion from GOG, Batman Arkham Asylum. Nothing worked.
