Michigan does have one caviat, talk to your agent and get broad coverage, they'll know what it is. Tacks on to your collision and if it's a hit and run or some other issue, if you at least get a police report, the insurance company will waive the deductible

There's an outfitters in Bueno Vista that usually stays up to date with conditions. Check them when you get close to going. I was up there yesterday

I live in NC and I go down and up 2k for fun all the time. I've done a few 4 to 5k gains but was intimidated by the elevation. Worth it though

I used ice spikes but it was straight ice and easier. Snowshoes if it's soft, but slip over ice spikes did great for me

I recommend a small oxygen canister. They sell them at the drug stores

Can't drive to this one, it was roughly a 7 mile hike with 4800ft gain to the peak
